The sad part is that, in the name of energy efficiency, we've replaced a relatively recyclable item (mostly just some glass and metal) with something that, when it fails, is a chunk of e-waste.

Besides this Magic? I have a Parker SRX and and Leopard. My suggestion would be SRX if you don't have one. It approximates the feel of SR most faithfully of the ones I own.

It's the razor that most often makes me loose Focus. My desert island if I could only take one razor.

Razor - 1918 Gillette Old Type

Taking a mini-break from the theme and focus to give a few other things a chance. Stayed with the 1918 to give it another go in its 100th year and used the Rapira PL for its second day. This blade is a great option. Smooth, sharp, normally does a great job. I grabbed the El Caballero soap to give it another run as I haven't used it much yet. Great scent and lather with the JR46 and no issues with it at all.

If there was a negative in my two passes and touch up it was my handling of the razor. Clearly didn't stay up on the cap like I normally do and got just a bit heavy handed. Alum punished me a bit but I survived and all's well. Not my best effort but I did get a very nice DFS. Can only blame the operator.

If you haven't been over to the discussion thread for the meet up the link is in my signature. Trying to get a reliable head count of how many would like to attend and what month is best. In about a week I'll narrow it down further as we work through the discussion. I know several have already indicated their preference and added some cool ideas to the mix too.
