Saturday Straight's Shave Proraso Pre Shave Williams Mug Shave Soap B-400 by Tom Joseph Elliot Wedge CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Pinaud Vanilla I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the B-400 badger brush. I did two passes with the Joseph Elliot Wedge and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. I caught myself on my upper lip once during the first pass and drew a little blood. Nothing bad. It has been a long time since I have drawn blood. I was just a little over confident. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Gillette Canada Tech Blue Bird (corked and stropped) mix of soaps From 3 days growth to BBS in two effortless passes. Then witch hazel, and done.
Thanks Keith. It's smaller and lighter than I usually like, but it's so dang sharp, that it makes it all work.
PAA Starling Razor “B” & GEM SS ptfe Maggard 30mm B&W GD Angel with Lamb Tallow Humphreys Alcoholado Maravilla M&R Rose Water Nivea 2in1 lotion A 3rd shave with the Starling and 2nd with the “B” beta plate. And it was very good. I prefer this plate over the milder A blue plate. Blade is lined up better and it just felt smoother. I think it could use a heavier, more substantial handle. That will be the add on for my next shave. Have a great evening and shaves Gents...

January 2018 Shavettes and Jeeves January! January 12 Razor - 1918 Gillette Old Type Blades - (2) Soap - Oleo Soapworks El Caballero Brush - Jayaruh #46 Post - Alum Taking a mini-break from the theme and focus to give a few other things a chance. Stayed with the 1918 to give it another go in its 100th year and used the Rapira PL for its second day. This blade is a great option. Smooth, sharp, normally does a great job. I grabbed the El Caballero soap to give it another run as I haven't used it much yet. Great scent and lather with the JR46 and no issues with it at all. If there was a negative in my two passes and touch up it was my handling of the razor. Clearly didn't stay up on the cap like I normally do and got just a bit heavy handed. Alum punished me a bit but I survived and all's well. Not my best effort but I did get a very nice DFS. Can only blame the operator. If you haven't been over to the discussion thread for the meet up the link is in my signature. Trying to get a reliable head count of how many would like to attend and what month is best. In about a week I'll narrow it down further as we work through the discussion. I know several have already indicated their preference and added some cool ideas to the mix too. Nothing is set in stone yet but we'll keep working through the process. Have a great weekend!
L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Sensitive Face Wash Omega Pro49 Catie's Bubbles Conneticut Shade Grah and Plumacher "The GOTTA" 5/8th Gillette Rocket HD Supermax Blue Diamond blade A little alum, and Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm Good 3 passes. First on the cheeks and neck with the straight, then finished the difficult areas with the Rocket. I am having a little irritation from the soap I think. Will keep experimenting but after a couple of uses I'm fairly sure it's causing the burning sensation. Have a nice weekend people
