I could be on a plane to NYC, right now. But, I am not. Have I ever gone after something so hard that I ended up running away from myself? Sadly, yes. The crappy part is, none of the men I respect would ever do that. So, I got some things to do, to be more like the men I just mentioned. They're smarter than me. It's not even close. Hard things I learned and did this week: Don't ever let can get in the way of should, and notice what happens when others do. It will keep everybody really busy, and all for no real reason. The best outcome most can expect from a real fight is going to be a broken hand. The sentence you just read is figurative only. Win the correct wars, don't merely get drawn in to fighting battles. I mean this literally. Injuries take a long time to heal, no matter what intent starts the festivities. Also figurative. January MMXVIII - Shavettes with the 30DC Bama Samurai Shavette Tip: Use a new edge daily. You're worth it. Let nothing impede your skill, especially the thought of saving 3 cents. Place bets on yourself from now on. Do they last longer? Yes. But who cares? Astra is $6 for 200 days of shaving. Automatic. Other than that...it's extra quiet in Colorado. Thanks for reading. Have a great morning.

Jared, I think that the brush has already reached maximum bloom. I pay attention to it for the remainder of the month. The tips are however splitting and getting softer day by day.
NB 18 Perpective for 14 January. In long ago San Antonio, Texas, about 200 Texian militia soldiers defended the Alamo against a then-modern European style assault force of 1500 regular Mexican Army. They lasted 13 days. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Alamo
I'll save you the time. They didn't quit. They ran out of ammo, got overrun and all died. But, they won. They built Texas by standing firm, and allowing the "real" Texas army to arrive and defeat the Mexicans, repelling them from the Lone Star Republic a short time later. Proud to say I was born in Texas.
Sunday January 14 - new week, new simple setup Schick Krona / vintage Gillette Platinum Plus (1) Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush Jeeves Cherry Blossom soap Alum and Jeeves Cherry Blossom splash Last week I used a simple razor that tends to get neglected in my rack - a Gillette Tech. This week I have opted for a similar humble performer -- the Schick Krona. I haven't used it in months as it gets overshadowed by the flashier modern stainless steel razors or the vintage adjustables in their fine new Delta Echo coatings. It delivers though, if I let it. I paired it with a quality vintage blade and let it do its thing. Two quiet passes later, I had enjoyed a DFS. The soap and splash this week are another Jeeves pairing. I stayed with the Soap Destroyer, although I might switch it out later this week for the Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar. This is all just another setup that provides good shaves without a lot of flash and fuss. Hope everyone has a good week!
A pox upon coffee. Never bought one, and don't plan to. The couple of times I have used one I have been underwhelmed. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
My drip pot has a reuseable basket and I do not use filters in the perculators. Love pressed coffee too. So basically no added waste with meh coffee!
