  1. Looks like he thinking he forgot his boots.
  2. German Short-haired Pointers (GSP, I keep two) are not wired up to feel cold like we do in our feet. Their feet are very fatty and webbed, and have a little snowshoe action going on. They also have relatively more blood vessels and less nerves. They spend hours in the snow of their own accord, and have to be called inside. Most GSP are liver colored. These are pure, but they both come from a recessive line. Black and white GSP is the equivalent of blond and blue humans, only about 4 to 7% of all GSP express this coat.
  3. Big fat retired Brother "Ace" (13 yrs)[IMG]

Little one "Jet" is two and a half years old.
  4. Learned something new today! And both are nice looking.
  5. Thanks! Just wanted to reassure anybody unfamiliar with the breed that they like to play in snow. They have a dog door and are always allowed to be wherever they feel is comfy. They are my buddies.
  6. When he lies crouched in snow covered dead vegetation, Jet almost becomes the shadows and is basically invisible.
  7. Fantastic photos today, Gents!
  8. Thank you, Jim!
  9. Bama Samurai Shavette Tip Three:

Don't shave. Just try to barely wipe the lather off your stretched skin.

Get back to me after you try.
  10. You have inspired me, Perry...out comes the '66' for tomorrow.
    Love the Baker Street!
    More great advice...
    Yup, and more great stuff...
What is a 'menthol shavette' Fuzzy? Not trying to be a smartarse (this time...), is it a real thing, or a typo?
  11. Terrific! It's nice to be an inspiration. ;)
  12. Great looking brush Andrew. Did you do the restoration?

    Thank you Andrew.
  13. I need to use more commas. Try it this way.

    Barbasol, menthol, shavette Monday.
  14. Gentlemen of the 30DC: Excellent batch of photos and shave descriptions today. Plus a useful comparison of coffee houses and of at-home brewing methods, some more good tips for when I finally work up the nerve to try a shavette again, and some interesting information about German Shorthaired Pointers. As usual, this thread has been a great place to visit today!
  15. Monday January 15 - Jeeves January, Menthol Monday and day 2 of Schick Krona week

Schick Krona / vintage Gillette Platinum Plus ( 2)
    Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush
    Jeeves Cherry Blossom soap
Alum and Jeeves Cherry Blossom splash

The Jeeves splashes have a light amount of menthol in them, so I did Menthol Monday as well as Jeeves January today. Beyond that, not much to say -- an easy two-pass DFS.

I suspect that when this week is over I will put the Schick Krona in my "sell, trade or PIF" box. It's a good little razor that works well for me, but I just do not love that plastic handle the way I do my vintage metal razors. I am glad I got to own one and use it to see what it is like, but now that I have, I can pass it on without regret.
  16. Short haired German pointer.

  17. Glad you got some rest. A good night’s sleep can, if nothing else, at least put a better perspective on the day.
  18. If you didn’t, I think the sincerity of the gesture could be called into question. In fact, it would probably be better if you commissioned one now for next year’s birthday. That should give you quite a few months to make sure it is properly broken in.

I was thinking that maybe you should have my name engraved on it. That way when she throws it at you, standing on the front lawn with the rest of your stuff, I wouldn’t hesitate at all to buy it from you, to help fund your hotel rooms.
  19. Love the setup. Frostbite has such a wonderful scent.
  20. I know that at first, when I started to use my off hand, I tried to use it exactly the same as my dominant. Symmetrical. Then I figured out that I just needed it in certain spots that weren’t comfortable with my left, but just fine with my right. I am probably about 65/35 now, and can get all the hard spots.
