Calling the artistic types!!! Need someone with some artistic ability to help with a project. Shouldn't be too difficult, but if you are the artistic type let me know. This is a project for the Meet Up this summer.
Gentlemen, great photos and shave commentaries today, as usual. And the usual pleasant chitchat. Perry @PLAla, I hope your son is better soon and stops leaving snot contrails behind him as he whizzes past at Mach 1. I have conferences and seminars I go to solely because they count towards my mandatory hours of Continuing Professional Development, so I know what you mean about not missing anything by getting there half a day late. Jason @jtspartan, nice lot of products you used today. Sorry you couldn't smell most of them. Andrew @Linuxguile, hope the rest of the workday went better.
Shavette Focus 1.18.2018 Face Shave Only (48 hours growth) Pre-shave: hot shower & Nivea Men Sensitive Face Wash Brush: Omega boar 49 Soap: Arko soap stick (courtesy @SharptoothC) Razor: Magic by Master Barber Blade: Derby (2) Post-shave: Assured WH (Dollar Tree), Nivea Men Sensitive PS Balm, Shulton Old Spice AS Via Chris @SharptoothC's generosity I had my first ever shave with a stick and my first shave with Arko today. My last shave was Tuesday afternoon with Williams. Ten minutes after I had shaved and cleaned-up afterwards, the mailman delivered the Arko. Such is life... It was different for me. I showered, but before I got to the shave, I spent a few minutes trimming the goatee and mustache. Then I moved on to the face shave. While it was odd since it was the first time to apply soap from a "stick," I was very impressed with the resulting lather with the wet boar brush. I was also impressed with the protection the lather offered. I have heard that some shavers like the scent of Arko, others hate the scent, and still some are neutral about it. I find that I like it. When I first opened that package from Chris one of the first things I did was take a sniff of the Arko. Like I told Chris in a PM, the scent reminded me of a pleasant scent somewhere in my past... I can't identify exactly what it is, but it's a pleasant memory. Overall, very good shave. No blood, single pass on the cheeks and a little touch-up on the neck. I didn't find the "baby" but that's all right... an enjoyable shave is the ultimate goal. Good evening everyone!
I think the creosote sounds interesting. My association is more being up on the roof when I was a kid, and banging a log chain around in the stove pipe to clean it, but the concept isn’t a turnoff by any means.
ARKO is just a big ole bucket of Turkish goodness. Really great cheap soap. Some find it drying.....I do not find it do. But them I am a Williams guy so what do I know.
