SOTD January 20, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: GEM PTFE single edge Razor: GEM G-Bar Brush: JR #41 badger Lather: Soap Commander Influence Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Black Tea aftershave, Soap Commander Influence balm WTG, XTG G-Bar? Yes, please! This razor is consistently providing great shaves. Really enjoyable. The PTFE blade has been great as well. Enjoy your weekend!
Rite Aid didn't have any carbon blades, and neither did Walgreens. My local Bi-Mart had Personna Gem SS blades in the 10 - pack dispenser on markdown for $3.49 so I bought a pack. Kinda weird not seeing any carbon blades. Gonna have to call around and see what other stores have in stock. Fred Meyers/Krogers might have some Gem Blue Stars. Awesome. Those look great! Those are awesome shaving blades! Funny how that happens. Can you order them and pick them up in store?
ARKO kind of day today. The 1914 with a CVS blade did a great job on the lather made by the 30DC brush. Love Pinaud Classic Vanilla.

Sunday's Shave Proraso Pre Shave Williams Mug Shave Soap JR #206 2-band Badger Gem 1911 Lather Catcher J.A. Henckels, C.V. Heljestrand wedges CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Vegetal I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the JR #206 2-band Badger brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1902 Lather Catcher Razor using J.A. Henckels and C.V. Heljestrand wedge blades and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... I used all three blades for today's shave to see how they performed. The Henckels did well while the Heljestrand was a bit tuggy. I am holding on to the better of the Henckels for this week's shaves and sending the other two to @twhite. He thinks he can get the smile off their faces. I am very happy to have this Henckels in my collection.
CVS is NOT Dorco! Also the RITE AID blades are NOT Dorco. CVS and Rite aid store blades are the same as Treets and the GEM Carbon Store blades - there really nice! Now the FOOD LION and Market Basket SE blades are DORCO and are Korean trash - i bought vaults from both and used them for my painting projects
Fuzz MAN! THE BLADE/CVS CARBON's are exactly the same as the Red Package CVS Blades - CVS now has "Blade" for there generic shave stuff - so u got Blade Spice - u got Blade Aqua Velva clone - etc etc. As u know CVS blades are the same as Treet and GEM carbons for that matter - all Made in USA {not korea!!] there same for me - I only notice a difference in the PAL Super (with oo9 on spine NOT PAL) carbons - those Blades are GOLD for my skin - i love em to bits - i pray Personna keeps making them

Thanks. The three wedges I used today with my Gem Jr. came with my new J.A. Henckels Rapide razor. I will be using it this week starting tomorrow. I held one blade back and am sending two off to be refreshed/honed. http://jrshaving.blogspot.com/2018/01/ja-henckels-rapide-arrives.html
