Sun 21st Jan Needed a good dependable Shave,so used my O Clone which produces a great Shave even with a single blade. Schick O Clone with Schick Proline ( 6 )
Walmart's got them for $3.51 for 10 in a Gray colored dispenser. They are Gem Blue Stars. Free shipping when delivered to my local store. Gem's part #00CCG84546SEQ08 They also offer them in a black dispenser. Can someone please cross check that part number for me to verify that they are shaving blades. Walgreens can get the Personna/Gem SS blades. Razors Direct can get the Gem Blue Stars for $4.99 with free shipping. Still gotta check on Fred Meyers/Krogers. Clayton . Here is another example of a single edge. The way I do it is simple, just place the head on the face and bring down til I find the angle. I like that it has more audible feedback than the DE, at least for me. Hope this helps.
I find the horse hair brush to be the sweet spot in the middle. Almost perfect balance between a boar and a badger. It has a good bit of backbone, and yet still splays nicely I tend to reach for my cheap cremo vie-long horse hair most of the time, if I am using our beloved Williams, if I am using a cream, I will still use a badger for that, but on a soap, I like the horse or boar.
Getting ready to use my Valet Auto Strop tonight. I used a despined DE blade. The fit was pretty good. I did make sure that it was lined up, and centered. I will let yall know how it goes, wish me luck!
To me nothing beats the PAL super. I use to be able to pick them up local. Now I find Treets...still a great shave! The Gem Blue Star is a solid blade. They will shave great!!
Good to know about walmart having them. As much as I like the CVS brand blades, I will need to try out other options as time progressess.
Sunday’s Treet Razor: Treet Baton Handle Blade: Treet Carbon Brush: Rubberset 200-4 Soap Palmolive Cream AS: Witch hazel This Treet Razor is a very smooth little machine. It does not feel aggressive in the least. But a 3 pass delivered a near BBS. This was my first use of the Palmolive cream. It is some nice slick stuff. It will be going on my to get list. That is the vintage Palmolive soap. I have not seen any come up for grabs in awhile. The newer stuff is nice too. I agree about the Treet razor veddy nice indeed. That brush looks a lot like my ER 104. Love it.
Hey hey hey....actually good point! That does not take long to fix though. It's amazing how good they work up a lather though.
Oops. I was thinking that was a small boar like my 104. I like big boars too. Used the big ole JR 176 today. It has the same omega knot as my B-400. It worked up a great Marvy's lather in no time.
