Wed 24th Jan RazoRock Syn. 22mm Lea Classic Soap 1. PAL S/S Adjustable with Proline [ 1 ] 2 ES Claymore V1 & Proline [ 10 ] Alum Rub/Rinse off Lea Classic A/S lotion Took one of my PAL Adj, Razors out for a test drive, with a view to passing it on to a friend. I loaded a fresh blade as I had problems with it before. I note some misalignment between the guard and blade, which I tried to correct. Though Adjuster worked, the Razor was not working as a PAL should so the Shave with it was aborted. This one is now officially a Paper-Weight. I had the ES Claymore on standby to complete the Shave. I am liking this a lot more since I changed the stock handle, and I completed the Shave very satisfactorily . Though the blade was was on its 10th use, the Shave was not only smooth and comfortable but the all round finish was good too.
SOTD January 24, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: GEM PTFE Razor: GEM G-Bar Brush: JR #60 synthetic Lather: Williams Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Tobacco Bay Leaf aftershave WTG, touch up Nice and easy shave with the G-Bar. The Williams worked fine and all came together quite well. Have a great day!
1/23/2018 = Last Night's Shave. Since the proline blade slid off a post last night (I discussed this yesterday - proline B blades are a tiny bit shorter than a traditional blade made for injectors -which the proline is NOT really made for that) - I kept the SCHICK "chick" blade in there and It was as Smooooooooooth as silk - not samurai sword sharp like my vintage blades or the Proline - but still a great blade and i respect the Chick... The type L is very mild and does take a little more cleanup meaning the shave takes longer to achieve BBS - but BBS was achieved and ZERO irritation, ZERO blood - just amazing. The OGALLA bay rum & Sandlewood PUCK along with a Green Tube of Proraso were the 1st 2 non aerosol can shaving products and it started me on this Fun OBSESSION - All i gotta say is DAMN! that OGALLA is BAY RUM - JUST LOVE THE SCENT OF THIS puck! It is much better when face lathered and my big Ol' Boar OMEGA KNOT whipped up some rich and creamy lather... Funny I bought this puck for like 7 bucks on west coast shaving and I read the reviews and most say that the soap sucks, wont lather, dries skin, blah blah blah - its pretty much all B.S. - soap LATHERS wonderfully, its not a INSTANT lather like a 20 dollar croap from a Artisan, but it takes a tiny bit of patience to load the brush heavy and as long as u dont start by drowning the brush and soap water - U are good to go. I also have the Ogalla after shave - but used the Crown King atomica bay rum - folks this bay rum is mind blowing - REALLY GOOD STUFF!!! but for soap the Ogalla destroys all other bay rum soaps - my master bath and bedroom is literally filled with Bay RUM scent when I lather up this baby... Peace !! JAMIE *let's see some shick Type L love!!!! - yes she is a mild shaver - but she always leaves me with a happy ending
I got bad news - those PAL blades are NOT the same as the PAL Super Blades that come in 10 blade vaults - The supers are for Shaving. These PAL Blades that have PAL on the spine are not good - I bought 10 loose ones and did side by side comparisons - there terrible - rough as heck. The proper PAL blade has .009 on the spine - there is also a british shave forum that discusses this as the PAL supers are very hard to get in UK - and they bought the PAL u have listed here and they all confirmed the bad news - What really stinks is that people use these PAL blades and report the PALs are terrible - but they are NOT using the PAL Supers with .009 on the spine - so if u sell these PAL's loose - u may get some negative feed back
Yes - the PROPER PAL SUPER Blades only come in 10 blade vaults - there is a amazon seller that has the Vaults for a good price - but the seller does run out from time to time . Please do not buy the LOOSE PAL blades that say PAL on the SPINE - there not for shaving and u will NOT like them - ymmv does not matter - there BAD --- so PAL SUPERS from amazon - not the loose PAL blades form anywhare - LOOSE = wrong blade
SOTD January 24th Ever-Ready 1924 "Shovel Head" Gem PTFE (2) Stirling Mountain Man Maseto Shaving "Classic" (30mm Finest Fan, Cruiser Class)
This was the Wednesday Williams shave, with the GEM featherweight! It did an awesome job, just as I suspected it would.
My two 10 packs of Gem Blue Stars showed up at Walmart this morning. I'll pick em up tomorrow when I make my grocery run. I need some Skinbracer too, I wish they still made it in Cool Spice. Clayton Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
I know man - I dont want to be the party pooper :-( - bought 30 of these loose blades from Razor Emporium cuz it was cheaper than the 10 blade vaults and i was horrified - and than i did side by side using 1912;s and it was dramatic difference - if it makes you feel better - I have been burned 4 times with broken broken razors - 2 1912;s , 1 1924 and 1 1914 - so about 120 bucks total of bad razors - but hey 4 bad razors aint bad since i have dozens of old razors

Williams Wednesday Razor: Auto Strop model B Blade: Auto Strop Brush: JR 250 Soap: Williams AS: Kleanspa Bound & Shagged I just received this Auto Strop today. Needless to say this was the razor tonight. It was a great shave. The old blade was re-honed 5 shaves ago and is still a smooth shave. This thing has some serious miles on it. It is a bit used looking, it is a fine shave. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
The ones in the 5 blade box like the Treets are good too. I like to keep some around....but do not have any right now...just treets and accutecs from cvs and riteaid...
Thur 25th Jan RazoRock Syn. 24mm Stirling Baker Street Alu General + S/S Handle Feather Pro [ 5 ] Alum Rub/Rinse Off Tuff Green A/S Lotion Have not used this for a while, I like the change of handle which gives the Razor A bit more heft.Very nice to handle and smooths very smoothly but to be honest the overall finish in some areas was a bit lacking, though it could well be operator inattention at fault.

Smooth stuff! I feel bad for my Pushbutton and Featherweight and 1912 because they've been shunned to the bench after getting the G-Bar. That's how it goes sometimes! Have a great day!
