I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the JR #217 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the J.A. Henckels Rapide razor with a J.A. Henckels wedge blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Yesterday's EUROPEAN Williams Wednesday...

Back to my Purple Schick Type L - this time with my favorite blades - a 1974 Schick Plus Platinum made in the U.S.A.

The Type L does take more work, since it is more mild. But again Zero Irritation, Zero Blood and a BBS was achieved after a long pickup pass :)

The Williams Tube was not very slick, but I used a lot of product & and added water every pass- so it was slick enough, the post shave was good because of the american Aqua Velva Balm - now that stuff is great and was on sale at walgreens last month (so i have extra tubes) says clearance? Wonder if Walgreens is not going to offer it? That would be a shame as this is a great balm.

    Peace, JAMIE B.

I have had some good Shaves recently with various Injectors. However, IMHO there is nothing quite like the satisfaction gained by getting a great Shave from a SE, as they require more care and attention whilst Shaving. Today, I got it just right with the Mongoose, smooth and comfortable with a superb all round finish. Did not even have to think about an application of alum.

    SOTD January 26, 2018

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Personna
    Razor: Schick G4 '66' injector
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Nice as usual for Friday. This is an automatic setup for me and it's always great. I'm really quite pleased with the Personna blade in the Schick 66. As I mentioned I had written them off for me due to a bad experience, but this blade has been terrific. Have a great day!

SCHICK TYPE L - Lady Razor

1974 Schick Plus Platinum blade on 2nd shave - I just can't get over how much Sharper this blade is to the Modern "Chick". The chick is a great safe shave, but it does not compare to its grandfather, the disco plus platinums are just as sharp as modern day Feather, yesterday I got cocky and rushed and there was a little blood, but the Alum Stone eliminated it with ease.

    PEACE - JAMIE B.

Terrific photo and setup as usual, Jamie! Does that aftershave say Avon Clint? @clint64 needs a bottle of that!

YES!!! That is CLINT Aftershave!! Douglas Symthe Turned me on to Clint - he is a big fan of vintage Avon. It smells like vintage Aramis! I find with vintage aftershave's its a "hit or miss" kind of thing. I guess it depends on how it has been stored. I can say this bottle is fresh! it was a NOS bottle. Well I just checked Amazon and that seller does not have then anymore :( I am sure Clint would not be to hard to track - probably not very popular - but it is one of my best VINTAGE splashes. I have lots of Avon's - Tai Winds, spicey, deep woods, wild country, evergreen - and CLINT is my favorite

I have a Autostrop VC-1, I'm guessing yours is a VC-2. Mines in what I call good user shape. Regardless of the finish they are awesome shavers. Straight Razors on a stick in my opinion.

I think the model B came out before the Valet models. If I'm right that razor should be early 1900's?

My gold bullet tip is my favorite but I need to bring out my Micromatic OC and try it again. They are built like a tank and made to last.
