January 2018 Shavettes and Jeeves January! January 26 - Fat Friday! Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy Blades - (1) Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip Post -Alum It's FAT FRIDAY!! Well, Fatboy Friday but I see others also using the FAT for their soap and I like that idea. Plus I'm kind of a FAT guy, so there you go. Fat guy, Fatboy razor, Fat soap. I don't have a "fat" blade or brush, so can't keep this theme going which is probably a good thing. I chose the Sharp Star because I need a reliably sharp and smooth blade. The cut from two nights ago is still a bit of an issue so I need to not reopen it if possible. Soaked the Fat and the brush for about 15 minutes and loaded a nice brush of soap. Great lather, slick, protective, and I kept the Fatboy on the cap and made it through two full passes and touch ups without even a scratch. Excellent shave and the alum stayed quiet. That's the way to end a Friday shave. Back at work tomorrow. My days off have been flexing a bit lately so I just had my weekend on Thursday and Friday. Enjoy your weekend while I have late Monday.

I've been using the Cyril L. Salter Sandalwood shave soap along with PAA Sangre de Drago aftershave as a combo. I found it was so good as a combo that I would make it my regular products with Bvlgari Man in Black. It would still be cool to have the matching soap.

Saturday 27th January Birch Tar Soap and RSC Facial Scrub Vitos Pre shave Cream Palmolive Shave cream with added Birch Tar and Cade EO Giles Shaving Co Bowl Semogue 830 Boar Brush Gillette TTO A1 Razor with a Treet Durasharp Carbon Steel Blade Alum Block and Rinse Arko Sensitive ASB Denim Original AS Last night I found 3 vintage Gillette razors in an old box which has travelled with me over the years. It is only proper for me to give them a run out. A very nice shave indeed. This razor is milder than what I am accustomed to. I had to struggle to avoid applying pressure. However 3 passes and some buffing gave a very smooth shave indeed It will be interesting to see how long this lasts! Have a great weekend!
