Old boar brush Shavette w/3 use blade cherry tobacco shave butter hot soaked blue glass coffee mug sink of luke warm water a bit of alum Fla H2O Did 2 passes with a shave butter that is non lathering.Basically scented Noxzema cold cream. Not my fave but it gets used once in a while. While shaving I nicked myself on the irritated line on my face that was a result of almost nicking myself 2 days ago.Had to use a cold face cloth, pressure and a bit of alum,it's been a long time since I nicked myself that bad.The Florida Water had a definite bite this time.lol

Menthol Monday's Shave Proraso Pre Shave Ingram JR#226 Synthetic Micromatic OC Personna Gem CS Personna Pal CS CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Florida Water Andrew, AKA @Linuxguile of Andrew's Shave Shop, was looking for testers for two blades he is carrying. I volunteered, and he sent me two of each to try out and give feed back. Both blades are by Personna, are 3-facet, and carbon steel. This week I will be putting these blades to the test. My plan is to use one of each for each shave Monday through Friday. I will use one blade for the first pass, change blades, and use the other for the second pass. Then I will do the same next day reversing the order. I will be using my Micromatic Open Comb, Micromatic Clog-pruf, and Micromatic Bullet Tip razors for the tests. I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Ingram Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the JR #226 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Micromatic OC Razor using a Personna Gem and Pal CS SE blades and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Florida Water AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... The plan was to use the Gem CS blade for the first pass and then change over to the Pal CS for the second pass. That is exactly what I did. The GEM blade worked well on the first pass. It was more audible than the Pal probably because it was encountering thicker beard. I followed up with the Pal on the second pass. It did a great job of finishing off this excellent shave. I got no nicks, cuts or irritation from the blades. After rinsing the blades thoroughly and drying them off, I put them aside for tomorrows shave. I will reverse the order for that shave and use my Micromatic Clog-pruf. Thanks, Andrew @Linuxguile , for the opportunity to try these blades out.

$15 is a very middle of the road price for the gold tech. You did well then and it’s a good razor. I have it and love it
Razor - Gillette bulldog Blade - vintage Gillette lol immediately switched to Wilkinson sword Brush - jayaruh no88 handle Soap - maca root cream Post - lavender witch hazel A/S - lime Sec This razor is aggressive. To me.. it’s almost r41 feel in aggression. but I’m bbs smooth
For my birthday head shave I decided on this gear: Razor: 1912 Gem Blade: PAL single edge carbon (First time use) Soap: Proraso Red (Won on PIF, first use) Brush: WD 24mm boar brush 3 passes. WTG, XTG, ATG. Soap worked fantastic! Smelled great too! PAL carbon was not liking me too much. It did the job but to me, not as good as the Gem carbon blade. It lacked that little extra sharpness that I enjoyed from the Gem blade. But smooth head still achieved and very little irritation. Had fun!
SOTD 1-28-18 QShave adj razor Derby Extra blade 1st use Wheat State Soaps Sweet Tobacco sample Razorock brush Witch hazel splash x2 AV Musk Aftershave splash I've had this sample for a while but never got around to trying it. I've tried a few soaps and just find that cream works best for me on a face lather. I put this sample in my bowl and soaked the brush while I showered. Shook off excess water and did a bowl lather. I had to add a few drops of water but this was by far the best bowl lather I've ever had. The aroma of soap was awesome to say the least. Turned out to be a great shave. Razor was on setting 3 for two passes and a clean up. I highly recommend this soap. I'll be ordering some soon. Cheers Sent from my LGLS755 using Tapatalk
