Just ordered an omega 10098 boar bristle brush. Should be here Monday. my justification is the price couldn't be beat lol

 

Just waiting for these, plus some other misc pens and ink. The syringe pens are _working_ syringes, and aerometric filler fountain pens. The nibs are under the heads, and the syringe tip is a short tube. So you could use it to fill another pen, then clean it out and use it for writing.

The next set is two junky DE's I bought, not to hone, but to see what they look like under the crud. Straight entertainment, not expecting anything worth the $10 I paid.

The last is the bright and shiny fountain pen I bought to give to a customer who REALLY likes green. (Anyone like Boxers? the dogs? )

 

No need for an excuse with that brush. They are great! I have the JR 176. A hand turned handle with a 98 head..I also have a B-400 brush made by @twhite with the 98 bristles in it. Both are favorites with Williams.

 

I'm glad to hear that. I'm using an omega 10005 boar right now and I love it, want to see what the longer loft and handle is all about . $15 shipped can't be beat

Not sure if I did it right, but with my first boar I soaked it in hot water a few times then did a few test lathers with prosao green and voila.....smell was gone . I'm no expert but I'll post my opinion of the new brush once I start using it .

Crappy eBay pic but this was an exceptional sniped deal on a Thiers Issard Bison with brown translucent celluloid scales. Been on the hunt for a nice TI that would cost a major appendage

Good choice! One of my first brushes was an O' Pro 98. I'm still enjoying it. When I got a B-400 from Tom @twhite I purchased another of the same boar just to harvest the knot and it's going strong.
The tall loft of that brush gives the bristles some flexability, yet there's still backbone. I like the scritchy scrubby exfoliating feel of boar. That brush has become my benchmark as to how much I like any other.

 

Well, it seems like my RAD has taken a turn towards an orphaned case AD. From eBay, I am waiting on a 20's Pocket Edition case:

From @NCoxSTL, I am waiting on a WWII Gillette military case (the plastic one) for my Bakelite Tech.

This is in addition to a previous purchase of a WWII-era Gillette snap case (the blue one) which now houses my black Contract Tech.

 

I agree. I actually got the second one made. The heads do not change out but it has the Omega 98 knot. Pleased as punch here!!
