  10. Favorite February

    February 1

    Razor - Gem MMOC
Blade - [IMG] Gem Carbon (1)
    Soap - Stirling Executive Man
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Second day of my OCMM Rule and it's a bit of an early shave for me. I have an early Doctor appointment tomorrow so trying to get some extra sleep time. We'll see how it goes.

The Stirling soap of the day is Executive Man. I've never used this one though I have used the bath soap in this scent. Decided I could match it up with the shave soap too. The Stirling Pro Style had no difficulty in loading and providing a nice slick lather. Excellent stuff.

I'm finding the carbon blade with this razor less than smooth, or maybe I should say less smooth than I expected. I've used carbons in DE razors and I know they aren't as smooth as stainless in most cases, but this one seems a bit less smooth than even DE carbons. I suspect it's because it's a thicker blade since it's SE. It's not a problem, really, just a surprise when I first start. It's something I'll get used to. The stainless Gem blade is certainly a smoother blade but also sharper and, therefore, a bit more of a risk in this razor. Besides, Fuzzy uses carbon blades and I want to shave like the cool kids.

Two passes and some touch ups and I was happy to find a DFS waiting for me. The alum was definitely warm on the neck but nothing horrible and there was, again, no blood. So far I'd say things are progressing well with this Rule.

Great to see some great favorites out there so far! Looks like a great month already well underway!

I got an excellent 3-pass (plus touchups) BBS shave. I love this 3-piece, long handled mildly aggressive razor. It was my 1st.
I found the blades at Target on clearance for $2.49/5 blades. I have not used these before. I found the blade to be very smooth and sharp. Nice shave.
Likewise, I found the Cremo/Vie-Long Horse hair brush on clearance at Target. I like this brush! It is my most expensive AND most stinky brush.

This was my 1st use of the Dead Sea Collection body oil as a pre-shave oil. Imagine the smell of wet horse under a coconut tree. But the oil worked well.
I had a very smooth finish to the shave, and excellent face feel after. The Clubman brought my senses back to reality.
Lots of firsts for yesterday's shave. Still clean and smooth early this following morning. Very satisfying.

    Outstanding Oubliette
The Silver Surfer has a tuxedo knot that really stands out for me in terms of softness and ease of use. This soap almost lathers itself and provides plenty of slickness and protection. The Vision comfortably dispatched my stubble without drama. My face feels and smells great.
