(watching this thread!) I have only one lime soap - Col Conk. It's a glycerine based and does lather fairly well. Can't say I'd recommend it since I generally prefer tallows. Not matching, but of note - Pinaud makes two AS/cologne/EDC. Lime Sec is Jolly Rancher candy sweet. Citrus Musk is less sweet, and the musk component extends the length of the scent. Lime E.O. fades quickly so another application later in the day will refresh the scent.
@Queen of Blades IMHO, our very own Shave Den Shop makes the best (authentic, non-candy scent and just the right intensity). Available in cream, soap, aftershave, & cologne. You should also try the TSD mojito (lime & mint).
That'd be worth a try....Sammy Davis Jr. might have been a "CandyMan" but not me when it comes to shaving.
Stirling makes great soaps and has a nice natural lime scent. Royall Lyme is also nice. I didn't care for Trumper's Extract of Limes.
If you just happen to be placing an Italian Barber order ... the What The Puck Lime is pretty nice. Add a bottle of Essential Oil of Lime A/S and you have a nice combo. I wouldn’t place the order strictly for this but I would definitely do an add on. I also have Cold River’s Limenthol, and while a very nice soap, my soap is on the lighter side if you like that.
mikes lime is nice with a maggards lime/bergamot aftershave splash and a mikey lee soapworks lime preshave
Vintage Avon Island Lime, if you can find it (not entirely uncommon at flea markets and the more out-of-the-way antique stores).
I don't think you will be able to find a matching soap... But the best Lime scent I've smelled is the Hai Karate Lime Aftershave.
Can't speak to the A/S but the soap I love is RazorRock Essential oil of lime. I spent a few summers in key west, and key biscayne. The key limes grew wild there and this soap reminds me of that.
Having tried several lime soaps, I have come to the conclusion that if lime fragrance is a paramount trait, it represents itself better in cream form. Castle Forbes Lime Essential Oil Shave Cream followed up with a splash of Royall Lyme is limevana. Pricey alert! The best lime shave soap I have tried is Captain's Choice. They also have a lime splash that I have not tried. Less expensive than the above combo. Happy Hunting!
I had a sample of that, but got it in the fall/winter.....thus, couldn't enjoy it that much. I bet it's great in the summer.
