  1. SOTD February 3, 2018

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick Proline
    Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
Brush: Ever Ready 100T restored with TGN finest badger
    Lather: Stirling Sandpiper
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sandpiper aftershave
    WTG, XTG

I was inspired by Mark's picture (@Boojum1) with his Ever Ready brush and used mine today. This is a new acquisition from @clint64 and it works like a charm. The Stirling lathered up beautifully with the Ever Ready and a great shave was had.

A new Proline artist club blade was used in the Black Hawk. Really smooth and comfortable. Reminded me of a Kai mild blade. Nice and sharp but not like using a Feather. @Linuxguile scored me those blades through his terrific Andrew's Shave Shop. The Black Hawk came from a big purchase made over a year ago from @PickledNorthern. So this shave was heavily influenced by the 30DC. Great stuff!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  2. Hey, MC Hammer's wearing his again.
  3. Fantastic photo Perry. I am so pleased that you are enjoying the brushes. What did your friend think of the Gem FW?
  4. I got my wife to snap a pic.

  5. Excellent picture, Perry!
  6. I could do a month with Rise, if my life depended on it. To be fair to TSD, I'd have to make sure I have quality artisan aftershaves to finish me off. ER? Now THAT is a horse of a DIFFERENT kettla fish:duel:
  7. You forgot to add your motorcycle, so you can compete in the "Tour De Kentucky".

    February 3 SOTD:

    PAA Atomic Rocket Brush
    Williams Mug Soap
    Gillette New LC
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Grey Flannel AS

For the record, I can drive a standard, and I can shave with Williams. Two passes with the New LC and a DFS using this new puck. Definitely more of a citronella smell than I remember from Williams, but the shave went well. I capped it off with this great AS and a little cologne spray to match. It's been a busy day, but it should be a relaxing evening. I hope everyone has a great day!

  9. awwwriight, you have Sandpiper soap!
  10. I'm already lining up ideas for 2019 :).

Hmmm, that One Blade looks allot a Wolfman.
  12. Thank you, Clint! I'm certainly enjoying both of them. My friend thought the world of the Featherweight. He's had a couple of DEs and an injector until now. He said the Featherweight worked really well for him, so thanks for allowing me to forward that on!

    Thank you, Jim!
  13. Oh yeah! Had the soap first from a BST site and then bought the aftershave with menthol from Rod's site. Great scent!!
  14. It sure is...in fact, that is on my nomination list for Stoylin products in 2019(soap AND A.S. together....not many days left for my current A.S.). Y'know, the A.S. has only 8 reviews on the website...shocking, what can I say???
  15. My pleasure Perry. I am glad everyone is enjoying the loot.
  16. I checked out and cleaned up my new Parker SRX shavette tonight. It came well packaged, and it is a solidly constructed tool. It feels great in my hand. A few practice shaving strokes seems to indicate that the weight, feel, and balance will be just about perfect. It is an incredible value for $25.

I have completed months of shaves with a Feather kamisori shavette and a few shaves with a conventional straight razor. At first glance, I expect the Parker to behave somewhere between those two kinds of razors. I have no hesitation getting started, but I have a lot to learn regarding technique with a folding style open blade razor.

My February focus starts tomorrow with the Parker. I'll continue using my Russian DE blades in rotation, and the Soap Destroyer will remain in play as well. My Weber is loaded with a GSB with one shave on it. I'll keep it handy for a few days in case I need it to finish my shave. I plan to start by doing a first pass with the Parker and the second pass with the Weber. As I progress, I hope to wean myself off the Weber.

I'm excited about my upcoming focus. A half-blade GSB goes in the Parker tomorrow morning, and I'm off and running. I plan to use a new half-blade each day.

    I'll take @BaylorGator's cookies, please. :eatdrink020:

    More to come. :D
  17. Morticia is only happy if Gomez is BBS.

But Fester ain't no shaving slouch, either.

  18. I'l process the cookie transfer. With the usual Cartel paperwork you should receive them sometime.
  19. In the meantime, I'll just snack on the herring that Uri gave me.

  20. Lisa's Natural Patchouli Soap
    Maggard Plissoft
    Fat Boy on "9"
    Feather
    Halston Z-14 AS

I don't think I have ever had lather come screaming out of a soap as quickly or voluminously as it did out of this one. Man, it just pushed all the right buttons tonight. And the Halston was a great match for it.
