I think I've fought off the AD but not without filling up my cabinet first. It was a near miss. There are still a couple of soaps I need to add, mostly replacements for nearly empty soaps.
February 4, 2018 Razor: Yaqi "Mellon" (i.e., DOC) head, Gillette OT handle Blade: Astra SP (2) Brush: VdH Boar Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH According to Yaqi's FB group, they have named their DOC razor the "Mellon" razor in honor of Joseph Mellon who patented the original DOC design. Today was my second shave with this razor and I decided to try something a little different and swap in a lighter, shorter handle. My initial impressions stand; this is an efficient razor with a lot of blade feel, but not an inherently aggressive one. I think it would take me a while to adjust to it as a daily driver, but I think some of the regulars in the crew would actually enjoy it. A BBS with no issues and nothing from the Alum.
Maybe so! What about the Personna injector? Is it vintage? If so then the Black Hawk is my only modern razor.
February 4, 2018 Gem Damaskeene Open Comb Gem PTFE Thater 4125/3 Nuàvia Rossa In the spirit of February Favorites I will be using my Gem Damaskeene OC razor on weekends for the remainder of the month. The little razor is a joy to use and my favorite vintage razor. The Nuàvia Rossa is nearing the end with the container visible in the center which made loading the soap a little more difficult. Even so I was able to whip up a great lather with the scent filling the room. Three passes and touch ups ended with me just missing the baby. As usual my lower right neck, aka my "nemesis" foiled an otherwise perfect shave. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Thank you Jason. Rossa is certainly getting close. I will try to keep using it on Sunday mornings until it is gone.

February 4 SOTD: PAA Atomic Rocket Brush Stirling Port-au-Prince SS Gem Junior Stirling Unscented PSB Ogallala Bay Rum AS I can see the bottom of the tin again in this soap, and I will be interested to see how many more shaves I can get. I will use this one for home shaves until it is done. It does a great job and I enjoy it quite a bit, so I will eventually get the Sheep version. I can smell it over the Bay Rum AS, so it is definitely a strong scent. I hope everyone has a great day!
No shave day for me today. We are heading out the door to eat at the Indian lunch buffet (so, so good) and then on to Aldi for grocery shopping. We'll swing into Walmart for grocery pick-up after Aldi. We went to Costco yesterday. We buy our groceries a month at a time and my wife meticulously plans our meals. She's a very detailed personality! Hopefully we'll finish up our taxes this afternoon and go ahead and file. There's always something to do!
They are a really nice shavette. They have a very good quality feel to them. I would think that considering you are skilled with an Artist Club SS, this thing will be a piece of cake.
