    Tuesday morning's planned shave:

    L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Junjie/Derby day 3
    Vi-John Mentholated SC
    Lucky Tiger AS Cream
    F&C Shambala AS Splash

I want to see how the Derby performs three days in a row with this razor. So far so good. The Vi-John cream is from India and it comes in a BIG tube. Its scent is very mild, but pleasant and it lathers very easily. Its menthol effect is not heavy but it's nice and it seems to be a pretty skin-friendly cream. I love that Lucky Tiger stuff so much as well as the Shambala!

I have been working on some homemade products for a couple weeks now and I think I've finally got everything perfected. Just in time for menthol Monday...

A pre shave made with coconut oil, witch hazel and a blend of lavender/eucalyptus essential oils. Moisturizes my face and creates a slick surface on my skin, prepping it for my lather which makes it EXTRA slick. Has lovely top notes of lavender/eucalyptus with a sweet coconut background.

An aftershave splash made with Alcohol(Everclear 190 proof), water, pure menthol crystals, eucalyptus essential oil, and eucalyptus Epsom salt(magnesium sulfate, parfum). Helps wake you up in the morning and put hair on your chest I don't use an alcohol splash often, but when I do I go for the menthol burn.

And an aftershave lotion made with jojoba oil, coconut oil, beeswax, shea butter, vitamin e oil, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oil. Lovely moisturizing lotion with a scent that lasts hours.

All in all it was a lovely shave. The FatBoy performed flawlessly as expected. I'm now awake/alert and well moisturized! Happy shaving everyone!

    Pre: O'Riley's pre shave oil
    Razor: 1961 Gillette FatBoy
    Blade: Derby Extra (2)
    Lather: Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar
    Brush: Fendrihan synthetic
After: O'Rileys's Aftershave Splash & Lotion

    Yaqi Professional (30mm, Cruiser Class)
    Stirling "Mountain Man"
Baxter of California Shave Tonic and ASB

This morning I continued my assault on the Mountain Man sample, this time with the big 30mm Yaqi B&W synthetic. The Yaqi did its job and left me with only one more shaves worth of soap in my Mountain Man sample. The Type D with the Personna blade was smooooooth. I did two passes for a very comfortable DFS and finished off with some Baxter of California Shave Tonic and ASB for Menthol Monday. Have a great day my friends!

Olive Oil Soap and RSC Facial Scrub
    Somersets Shave Oil (Pre Shave)
    TOBS Coconut Shaving Cream
    Omega S10083 Synthetic Brush
Kai Captain Excelia (Japanese Style) with a Proline-P
    Giles Shaving Co. Bowl
    Alum Block and rinse
    Benjamins Bay Rum

Not a shave I enjoyed. Everything was OK until my little dog barrelled into me....resulting in a cut on a cheekbone:(
Stopped after 2 passes. 10 hrs on and it would appear that it wasn't too bad as a shave......just no feel good factor.
I think tomorrow will be a mild shave to allow proper healing

RAZOR: Sabi 3-piece - chrome (3 inch handle, medium weight)- a mildly aggressive razor for me.
BLADE: Feather Hi Stainless Blade- this is the 5th shave on this blade.
PREP: hot water wash with Ivory Soap, followed by hot water rinse
PRE SHAVE: - Erasmic Shave stick (soap)
BRUSH: Cremo/Vie-Long Horse Hair - 3rd use from new
SHAVE CREAM: The Art of Shaving - Lavender Essential Oil - for Sensitive Skin - face lather
POST SHAVE: Hot water rinse followed by application of CRYSTAL deodorant (deodorant stone - potassium alum)
AFTER SHAVE: Murray & Lanman Florida Water Cologne
BALM: Orchard & Vine Tuscan Olive Lotion (not pictured)
    SOTD_02_05_2018.jpg
Another superb shave from the Sabi/Feather combo. I really like this little Cremo horse hair brush. It produced lots of excellent lather from the AOS.
I used the Erasmic stick as a pre-shave, scrubbed in with the little Cremo brush. It gets slick, but the lather just isn't good. No fault of the brush.
The Lavender Scent of the AOS was complimented by the clean Erasmic scent. And AOS lather never disappoints me; Rich, thick and protective.

End result was a close, clean 3-pass BBS shave. I really didn't need a full third pass. But the lather was there, the blade felt good, I had the time - why not.
Hope your week is looking up, and your shaves are all excellent.
    Cheers to the winners.

I really enjoy the old formula of the AOS soaps and creams. Easy to tell which is which BTW. When the label says: For sensitive skin, or regular skin, you know it's the original formula.

Thanks for sharing that bit of info. I was not aware that there was a "new" formula for the AOS products.
