Pre: Warm water face wash Brush: Omega 11137 Boar Soap: Grooming Dept. Ambrosia Razor: Blackland Sabre L2 Blade: Gem Blue Star Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Boots Bay Rum After yesterday's uncomfortable struggle to get a half decent finish I decided to play it safe. I put a new carbon blade in the Sabre, reached for possibly my favourite brush and strove to put yesterday behind me. There was one unknown factor to me, a Grooming Dept. soap, and what a performer the soap is. Great cushion, slickness, residual slickness and post shave. Downside, the scent but a good splash of Bay Rum soon rectified that. I've come to the conclusion, in the world of shaving there's only one thing better than a great shave and that's a great shave after a poor one.
Howzit! (Like they say in South Africa!) Friday's shave plan: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/new Astra RVT Chapmunk SS Stirling Glacial Spearmint AS Balm Fine Snake Bite AS Splash Aramis EdT My South African shaving journey continues with this beautifully-scented Chapmunk soap. It's got all the right ingredients like spearmint and chamomile and although I doubt that it's very cooling I heard that it's an AWESOME performer. The Glacial Spearmint balm should pair very well with it, and together with the Snake Bite it'll give me plenty of freezing!
Thursday, February 8 Dominica Bay Rum Shave Soap/Simpsons~~Thäter Boar (12)~~'11 R41~~Gillette SS~~Dominica Lime Bay Rum The Dominica is probably the WORST soap I have ever used (except for the scent) Even adding a bit of the Simpsons couldn't make a stable lather. To make matters worse, I grated the puck and there was no way (even melting) could I get the soap back into a form for the shower. Trashed. Have a great day!

Oh, my Dad's SOTD: Two hot towels Omega 49 Junjie/7 AM day 2 Colonel Conk Bay Rum SS Lubriderm Moisturizer Stephens Bay Rum Splash Wow, does this gentleman ever look like a badass! Smooth as silk after two passes. Personally I don't care for any of these Conk soaps but Dad loves the bay rum one. It's easy to lather but I never cared for the scent or skincare. The Stephens Bay Rum smells mild, but nice. As long as Dad's happy, I'm happy!
Today's shave was with a freshly honed Wilkinson Sword, A. Dunhill Edition(Pall Mall). Fantastically smooth razor, that requires little effort to shave. It's just a bear to prep up for the shave. I had a 3 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero Issues. Excellent razor, that is built like a tank, yet very nimble, and smooth. This razor will be saved for special occasions. Razor- Wilkinson Sword, Alfred Dunhill of London. Fifth Ave New York. 7 day set. Brush- Stirling Boar Soap- Vintage "Yardley" of London, Lavender. Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice.
