  1. I’ve heard it’s like Clubman but with a little Tonka bean as well

  2. Me too! I’m genuinely impressed with how good this brush is for the price.

  7. Never tried arko yet . Do you face lather with it or tear some off and use it in a bowl?

  9. Having same problem. New tablet is crashing steady and customer support seems to think turning it on and off will solve the problem. Ugh technology

  11. Favorite February

    February 8

    Razor - Gem MMOC
Blade - [IMG] ASR Carbon - CVS (5)
    Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Fifth shave on the blade and I think that's going to do it. It's starting to lose just a little of its effectiveness even though it's still basically as smooth as it was on the first day. Just the slightest hint of roughness, if any, but the two passes and touch up only got me to a low-end DFS. Perfectly fine for a shave while on two days off, but I can tell that I need to switch out for tomorrow.

Great lather with the Stirling brush and soap and the alum was quiet tonight. Either I finally got the touch right or the blade is just not able to cause irritation anymore. Either way, I'll take it.

My better half and I will be heading out late tomorrow morning for an early Valentine's Day trip. Going to drive over to the lake in Illinois where we got married and just kind of hang out and maybe check out a few shops. Having a nice dinner tomorrow night at a great steakhouse and winery. Should be a fun day. Hope you have a great Friday and roll into your weekend on a high note!

  12. It can be used either way though face lathering is the norm. I also keep a stick in a mug, as I call it. I will grate a stick or two of Arko into my Old Spice mug and press it down to form a puck, basically. That's what I use for head shaves instead of rubbing the stick on my head. Just works better for me that way. I will also occasionally load the brush from the mug for a face shave too.
  13. Sounds like a great trip, Neal! Enjoy your weekend away.
  14. Who's on first??

    You Sir deserve a Toady.

We should have an arkoholics thread.....

I find the Canoe goes better with the Classic Vanilla.

    Good man. Keep um honest!!

The only acceptable answer is face lather.

I vote you for Mayor of Cool Beanville.
  15. I almost ordered a stick of that one night I was shopping, then ended up buying a brush and never got the arko. Most places were selling arko in bulk packs of 6 or 10 sticks .

  16. Some sellers on eBay have them for 3 bucks a piece, usually in 2 or 3 packs. I bought a 12 pack that should last me, oh, 33.4 years at the rate I use it. Those two ounce sticks take forever to run out!
  17. Haha, can never have enough soap. I shave my head also so it seems like I may go through some soap this year.

  18. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I looked Tonka beans up. Vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon.
Veddy Good! Proceed along the path, Sir ;)

  20. Every wet shaver accidentally buys a case of Arko. No one is judging you. ;)
