Thanks, Jim! I like the Osage but I may save it for warmer days. It's a chilly 5F degrees today, been snowing (lightly) all day so just came in from shoveling. My cheeks are tingling, but at this point I don't know if it's from the cold air outside or the menthol. :Animatedfrozensmily:

    Thanks, Perry!

Thank you, Clint! It is in good shape considering its age. It has some plating loss but overall it's in solid condition.

    Thanks, Andrew!

Thanks, Jason. Not mint, but it's in great shape.

Good question... I've been using the 1912 the last few days. The first thing I noticed this morning on the 1924 was the audible feedback as I made my shave strokes. It was much noisier than the 1912. Just in eye-balling the two razors together with blades in them the blade gap appears the same, but while shaving I sensed the 1924 was a little more aggressive. But the 1924 was loaded with a brand new blade so maybe that was part of it. As far as handling, they're both the same as far as I'm concerned.

I'm going to use the 1924 for my next few shaves, and then I'm going to pull out the GEM Junior.

Thanks! Have you tried the 1914- little lather catcher? If so, how did it compare?

I've never tried the 1914 so I couldn't give a comparison. The other one I have is a 1912 (it even has PAT'D 1912 etched on the head where the handle is screwed into it). Here's my recent SOTD pics of the 1912:

Oh boy.... (exhaling deeply). Finally caught up from late last night. We're a chatty bunch. It's a good thing we're men, therefore less talkative.

    Another great video, Fuzzy! Thanks!

Glad you made it home safely, Keith! Have a great week.

Can you tell the Olympics is in town?

    I'm speechless, Brian.... simply speechless.

:signs011: I mean the part about zooming in on the inventory.... not the red-headed sister part. I'm happily married.

    Thanks, Jim!

    Thanks, Clint!

That is a gorgeous brush handle! The razor is awesome too.

    Very nice shave, Perry.

    Cool pic, Mark!

    Beautiful looking toggle, Jim!

Very nice, John. Did you face lather or bowl lather the KMF?

    Sounds like a wonderful shave.

    Thanks, Andrew!

Sounds like a wonderful, Andrew. Congrats on using up the MM.

    Great pic!

    Me too.... :innocent

At the airport I could tell, it wasn’t crowded as they just opened a new terminal but there is allot of signage and more info/helpers to give info and guide people where to go. Other than that the only other way I can tell is by the news. The sport has been over shadowed by the North, which has been very controversial here. Many are upset that so much deferen is being giving to the north, even the not being able to display the South Korean flag sometimes. Many here are calling it the “pyeonyang Olympics’.

I won't bore you with the details but I made a rookie mistake tonight and it resulted in a very nice gash on my head . My mind was wandering a bit and forgot to check the knob on my SS to make sure doors were tight.....apparently they weren'.t !!! So now I'm sporting tissue on my head and it's stinging like you know what.
I'd seen this advice to check the knob before and made a habit of doing so until tonight.
On a positive note the rest of the head shave was flawless as was my face. Im about to pull the trigger on one of Jims famous brushes.....makes me kind of giddy. Big Thanks to all the enablers.....you know who yous are...Happy shaves and happy days guys.

I pretty much always face lather, no matter what the cream/soap.

We have all made a similar mistake. If you're like me, you won't make the same one again after spilling blood.

After my rule is up this birth year SS is going into retirement after a good cleaning. I have a hankering for an SE and start the shavette in March. All is good .

I did pretty much the same thing. About the only time I use my birth year SS is on my birthday.

I was curious. I picked up two varieties of KMF: Fragrance Free and Cool Mint. I first used the FF and bowl lathered, and I got a nice lather. Next I tried the Cool Mint but tried to face lather. I put some on my face and then tried to build a lather with a brush, but it was a complete failure. It was like spreading on a latherless cream. The second time I tried the Mint KMF I Bowl lathered and I got a nice, rich lather from it.

I’m not too experienced at face lathering but I’ve been trying it more often with different products.

Don't let @Sara-s catch you saying that.

Because the blood from the SS wasn't enough; you have to step up your game.

I've used the same black handled SS for thirty years, and I _still_ end up with my pinky hitting the knob and loosening it up while flipping the razor.

I'm worried about my wife, my mom, my mother-in-law, my aunts and various other female relatives and friends catching me saying that. Wait? They've heard me say that before. They don't take me seriously.

I made a rookie mistake today. Instead of moving my razor sideways to the start of the next stroke and then setting it down on my skin and shaving, I set it down on my skin first and then moved it sideways... The inch-long slice along my jaw took a couple applications of the styptic pencil before it stopped leaking.

Oh well, live and learn. Other than that, it was a good shave...
