Just arrived today. Plating is in remarkable shape . I'm going to clean it up a bit before I put it to use .
I usually don't report my acquisitions here, best to leave as little evidence as possible, but this one is too good to not share. I was one of the lucky recipients of a 30DC LE brush and I selected a tuxedo knot. I succumb to my peers who raved about the knot and even though I am not a synthetic fan I went with the knot. I love the handle but the knot is just acceptable for me, I kept thinking this handle deserves a Shavemac silver tip. The last TSD raffle I won another 30DC LE handle , so I bought a Shavemac silver tip for the handle. But that was not all, I was also jealous seeing the bowls that Jason made for some other 30DC members. Jason was kind enough to trade for a bowl and he also included another handle with an Omega Pro knot. So now I have this very cool lather bowl and two of my favourite knots in @jtspartan handle. and first shave
What kind of thrift stores are you guys going to? The only shaving item I have ever seen in a thrift store was a broken electric razor. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I'm starting to think that I'm the most boring wet-shaver in the world. I only order on a replacement schedule. As I look at my shave spot, I only have 1 brush, 2 razors, and my soap. As a result, I rarely order anything.
I go to every thrift store in my area. Antique & consignment stores, too. If they keep a wish list I add my name and number and a list of gear I'm looking for. I also try to visit each store at least one each month. Many recognize me as "that guy looking for razors". If I see someone restocking their booth I have conversation. That lets me set their level of interest, because I'm looking for all that old junk lots of people throw away. The good news is I'll pay up to $20 for a piece in excellent condition. Few vintage razors or brushes are, so I'll offer +/- $5 if it's something I really want, or think has good trade value.

Well February is off to a fabulous start... #13 found its way into my life! An possibly the find of a lifetime!
I have cleaned out the local antique stores and they know me. But thrift stores? Never a hit. Not once. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
