I sent the "super goop lather" video to this guy awhile back. He's asked questions, and I've done my best to explain how to get a decent lather. Maybe something didn't click. Hopefully, if I show him in person it'll help. I'm certainly not an expert, but - Stirling!? It doesn't get much easier. My only guess is he completely drowned it. That's very thoughtful of you Perry. It's got to be a nice feeling when you can bond with someone who needs some extra attention & guidance, and then see them succeed down the road. I have no doubt that you are a inspiration to many of your students.
Great photo Jim. Congrats on the new razor. Timeless makes some gorgeous razors and the bronze just might be the best looking of the bunch.
I've suspected for a while that Williams is a soap that performs its best when the puck is well-hydrated. The best way to do this is probably daily use and/or a closed container ("microclimate" like some propose for MWF). The alternative is the "blooming" that others suggest. The worst thing to do to it is to leave it in an open bowl and just grab it occasionally.
Great looking photo and lineup Perry. I agree you shouldn't walk in fear each day. We live in a world that faces these challenges far to often. It matters not if the incident is due to someone with psychological problems or a lone individual acting out a terror plot. I do think it is important that people are aware of their surroundings and the possibility that an incident can happen. Since the girls have been old enough to understand we have talked about active shooters and survival tips. At least having an idea ahead of time can safe precious time.
Thank you Gentlemen. There should be just enough Fine Platinum left for tomorrow morning. I am ready to start concentrating on other soaps.
February 15, 2018 Razor: Schick E2 Injector Blade: Schick Proline B Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Back to the Injectors again... this time with the E2 and a Proline B blade. Not much to say other than a great combo.
Perry, I believe this young man is a fortunate guy and a blessing to you as well. Hopefully, this will turn into a lifelong friendship. It's cool that he's taken an interest in traditional shaving.
I agree, Clint. In my last year of work, we focused on how to respond to an active shooter as part of our safety program. I found this short video to be a great training resource and discussion starter. I would recommend it to anyone. It is mostly common sense (or should be anytway), and you can apply these principles in any situation.
Thanks Jason, the head in on passarround but I will for sure be getting one when they come out! Nice shave Rick, and yes it happens all too often. That is one wicked razor, Keith! You're on a roll, Neal! Absolutley stunning, Clint! Thank you! What a beautiful new razor, Jim! Fantastic photo, Perry! Great picture, Mark! A proline in an E2?! Livin life on the edge, John!
Thank you, Clint. I agree with all that you say. It's a complex world out there, but we can choose to be kind and compassionate and gracious and try to make it better for those we encounter. We can't let the evil outweigh the good.
