Pre: Warm water face wash Brush: Omega 11137 Boar Soap: Cyril R. Salter Tallow Razor: Marspen OC Blade: Gillette Nacet Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Cella Eau De Lavande This soap was part of a very generous PIF from a British Forum member. It has everything you want in a soap and some: Pleasant Scent✓ Cushion ✓ Slickness ✓✓ Post Shave ✓✓ The Gillette Nacet is one of my favourite readily available DE blades, sharp and smooth from the first. The Marspen showed none of its +70 years as it sprightly danced across my face, eradicating all in its path. What a great end to the week. Happy Shaving one and all!
Cooper-Barbasol/Yaqi verdict..a bit too inefficient compared with recent combinations. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Trying it with all my Old Type style bottom plates, still a couple more to come (French Perfector and Fatip next). It doesn't fit a lot of handles so that could be a limitation for some. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I think the Marvy rubber mug was made for modern Williams pairing. Combo of the raised ring and space around the edge keeps it hydrated even though I shave every other day. Good leftover lather from the big knot on the Zenith badger!
I see you are tempting me....even taunting me with your pictures of Williams' lather. I have too many soaps already. The area underneath my sink must be approaching it's safe weight limit. Hmm. I could use another unscented shave soap to pull duty alongside the unscented Shave Den soap.
Shave today. Soap select vetiver CRSW, finest badger brush Alfredo Miguel, razor of the "uncle sitting" (tio sentado) 8/8 vintage Solingen, Floid black, intense colony aqua di Parma. Oh la la. Sent from the Wolf's Den
My Dad's shave this afternoon: Two hot towels Omega 49 Ming Shi TTO/7 AM day 3 Palmolive Classic SC Lubriderm Moisturizer Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Splash Nothing but the best for my Dad and he feels like a happy camper. His beard is not as tough as mine but it's still tough enough that he needs two good passes to get a BBS shave. The Ming Shi I use on him is very forgiving and the 7 AM is a good, smooth blade. He finds the Palmolive Classic cream perfect. He winced a little when I patted on his Aqua Velva because of the slight sting and the menthol effect, but then he said how nice it felt! I love this man with all my heart!

You can tell him how I winced at my first application of Stoylin Spice A.S., and then thought it felt nice-but of course that is the antithesis of Aqua Velva.

Date: 17 February 2018 Pre-shave:- Cold Water straight from the tap Brush:- Maseto 2 Band Finest Badger Horn 30/54mm knot Soap/Cream:- Wickham 1912 ~ Shamrock Tweed (sample) Bowl/Scuttle:- Captain's Choice Razor:- Muhle Rocca R96 Blade:- Gillette Nacet #1 Post-shave:- Thayers Witch Hazel / Lucky Tiger Aftershave & Face Tonic Fragrance:- YSL L’Homme Holy Rocca. This beast is right in between the Muhle R89 (EJ DE89) and the R41, just above or more on the Merkur 34C aggressive rate and is much safer to shave the Rocca by riding the cap with some blade feel. The Rocca is very smooth IMHO using a smooth blade as possible and I've chosen the Gillette Nacet blade, I'm overwhelmed the Rocca has some extra weight because the whole head and the handle is fully stainless steel with some kind of black rubber grippy feel attached to the handle. Beside is way too early for me to give you my full judgement on the Rocca, all I can say at the moment the Rocca is very smooth IMHO as YMMV depending on your shaving techniques and your stubble because you can nick yourself very easy. This razor is a keeper in my den, I'm so glad I got myself a Muhle Rocca.
