  1. In response to Adam's challenge I notice this tub of Aqua di Parma is getting low too so it will start making regular appearances too. Inspired about thread sing the praises of small brushes my Culmak 55 made an appearance in today's shave.

Todays razor was a very very sharp Heljestrand, not my edge it came with this edge. I still struggle with small light blades and gave my self a tiny nick and some irritation. If only this blade was bigger.

    Irritation A Closeness A Smoothness A Sharpness A+

    Razor: Heljestrand MK6
    Strop: Herold ‘Russian’
    Brush: Culmak silver tip
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Acqua di Parma
AS: Enhanced Spieck AS, L’Occitane ASB
    Scent: cqua di Parma Essencia

Even though it is a warm, wet, rainy messy morning, its Saturday. What better way to celebrate Saturday the cast of favorite hardware and software. The CH2 is the most badger like synthetic I have tried and is a wonderful brush for face lathering. Paired with Nuàvia Rossa and its wonderful scent takes everything up a notch. Three passes and touch ups ended in an wonderful close smooth shave. Not perfect but a great start to the day. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Third shave with this wonderful razor, and similar results. Maybe not quite as good as yesterday, as I had to rush just a bit, but still a DFS. After several shaves in a row with this soap, I can honestly say it is far from my favorite. It isn't terrible by any stretch, but it definitely fails to stand out. The scent is great, in fact, my wife has been sneaking extra sniffs of me in the mornings, but the performance just isn't to my liking. I am wondering if I might actually punt on the soap left in the tub and offer it up to someone who enjoys the soaps from Maggards more than I do. The AS is pretty nice, and this will stay in the den, but I am definitely considering sending the soap on its way.

A day of work for me as we have an outage going on. I hope everyone else has a great day!

  14. Great photo Jim. I am with you on soaps. I had to punt on some as well.

  16. Record-breaking warmth coming next week. I feel like I'm in Washington DC or Colorado(both still hjgh on my move list-course it's rare for Colorado to be that warm around Presidents Day but I'm sure it's happened). I will no doubt plan my shaves accordingly.
