RazoRock Tuscan Oud today. 20 seconds to load the Elite Razor Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Gillette Platinum-Plus in the Gillette Fat Boy. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with RazoRock Tuscan Oud aftershave.

  2. Prep: Hot towel
    Pre shave: Prep
    Razor: Merkur 34C HD
    Blade: Permasharp
Brush: 'Jade' (Rooney Heritage 2XL Jade)
    Soap: Barrister Reserve 'Spice'
Post: Cold water rinse / Witch Hazel / Wholly Kaw: Fougere Bouquet ASB

It's not very often that I get it wrong, but boy, did I drop the ball today! 'Jade' was totally the wrong brush for the Barrister Reserve, and my blade of choice really didn't work too well with the 34C, a razor which usually provides a sublime shave.... Thankfully, 'Spice' is a 'Top Tier' soap, and my face doesn't look like I had an unpleasant shave.. so it's not all bad..

Decided to try out one of the Lab Blues I modified for the Segal razor and the Cella shave cream @cliffb599 sent me. In one word, nice, as the Cella performed very well and the shave was great. Two passes with a little touch up for a very smooth and comfortable BBS shave. I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Old Spice Original Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the TOST LE Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Jr. 1905 Lather Catcher Razor using an Original Gem Jr. SE Blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Prep: Musgo Real Oakmoss
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Gillette Rubie
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Wholly Kaw Project Leather
    Post: SC Courage Balm

Wonderful shave yesterday. Love the scent of Project Leather, it is not a straight forward leather scent, reminds me a bit of KING of Oud since both have a manly floral vibe to my nose. Lather quality is one of the best I have tried. Finished off with Courage balm.

    Post: CL TSM Fougere salve

Had another excellent shave this morning. Did get a bit of irritation which may have been from a few shaves ago, was going to take a day off shaving but what fun is that? Aether has a light menthol kick and the scent is unlike anything else, perhaps from the fennel but the notes blend beautifully together. Finished off with TSM Fougere salve. Very refreshing shave. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves!

  20. I had picked up a pack of Dorco/Pace disposable single blade razors a while back and finally opened it today for a test shave. Here goes.........
    face rinse warm water x3
    Pace razor
    Williams soap
    Brass bowl
    Boar brush
    sink of cool water
3 passes wtg, atg, diagonal on the face
2 passes on the neck wtg,atg
    face rinse cool water
    MastersImpulse a/s no burn

Face still has stubble you can feel but not really see, neck has visible stubble. These razors seem to be equal to 6 use SE or 5 use DE.I had poor results in the past with Dorco products but had heard they had upped their game......not so much IMO.I'm not sure I would carry these as a travel razor.Good thing I am sitting at home tonight or I would have to do a touch up with a regular razor.
