Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: GEM PTFE
    Razor: GEM G-Bar
    Brush: Artisan badger
Lather: Jeeves of Hudson Street Turkish Bath
Post: Witch hazel, TSD Iced Barber Shoppe aftershave
    WTG, XTG

Nice and easy shave much earlier this morning. I had to head out early and drop my car for a steering column repair and then we took the boy to a machine day exhibit at the downtown science museum. A local crane and truck rental/sales company brought about a dozen cranes and forklifts and other big machines and set them up in the street. The kids could get in the cabs and play around. Wilson loved it! We have several books on tractors and machines and he knew all the names of everything out there. Fun way to spend some time.

The shave was good. I'm thinking of picking one soap and working it until it runs out, in the vein of Jim @Norcalnewb and what he's doing at the moment. I may go with this tub of Turkish Bath. It was more of a sample size leftover from the pass-around. Not sure of its original weight but it has a few more shaves left in it. I'd like to finish something off that's more substantial than a conventional sample.

Okay, off to relax. Have a great day, everyone!

  2. Sounds like a fantastic day with Wilson. There is a group of guys that do that with soap after soap on B&B.

  4. Thanks, gentlemen! I am extremely pleased with the bowl and with how well it turns out it works with the monster Kent brush.

Btw, 30DCers, did everyone notice Jason's announcement that he has conquered brushes and lather bowls and is preparing to move on to other challenges? Could it be that we are finally going to see the Jason Custom 30DC LE Shaving Stand that was proposed many months ago? Stay tuned... :D:happy097::happy102::scared003:

  5. Thank you, Jason! I am just getting home, but it could be worse. My parents are in town, and they are going to watch the kids, so I get a night out with my wife.

Sometimes you have a few extra minutes, your batting lineup is perfect, the stars are lined up just right with the moon, and you manage a shave that the Koreans call, “Epic”. Today was epic.

Wife and daughter are traveling for Show Choir, so I am home alone. As much as I love and miss the family, I can’t even begin to explain how nice it is to just have a day to myself on the recliner. I already had a three hour nap.

  7. That is really a classy looking razor and it pairs very well with the CH2. Enjoy the quite time while you can.

  10. I cannot tell you how peaceful it has been today. I put new license plates on Danie’s car and fed the critters. I cannot drink much anymore in general, but I brought home a jug of Bombay Sapphire, and am enjoying a good martini. Or three. otherwise, have laid on my ass ALL day.

  14. The VDH boar was my first brush. I still bust it out every now and then. Certainly not a high-end brush, but it’s not a terrible one either.

Congrats on the awesome bowl! It makes that big ol’ Kent look like a normal sized brush!

    Great photo and setup Jason!

A rational person would suggest that you give up the adult beverages. I, on the other hand, am tempted to send you a few bottles just to see what else you buy. :D
Congratulations on the sweet score Clint! She’s a beaut!
