And I never got a bowl either.....Only works so far...... That’s okay, I am assuming I am on the top of the list for one of the cabinets.
Another crazy day in a long string of crazy days. I finally have a chance to post this morning's shave. Now to try and catch up on the thread Oleo Soapworks El Caballero Soap B-400 Brush by Tom Feather AC SS Razor Feather Pro Blade Lucky Tiger Fine Santal Absolut After Shave Have fun!
Speaking of great shaves. Let me tell you about this afternoon. I have this wonderful Schick G8 that feels ever bit as aggressive as my E2. For those that do not know a E2 can teach a straight a thing or two abou no pressure. Anywho...today was a fantastic shave with it using a humble Personna blade. I slamed out a great lather from the Boots shave soap with the JR #176/Omega boar. Finished up with Boots Freshwood AS. @Bama Samurai one more thanks for all the boots goodness. It is a favorite of mine. Anyone else have a G8? How does it run for you? I get consistant outstanding shaves with this one.
That G-Bar looks to be in great shape, Perry. If you are going to finish off that Jeeves soap, you’ll be at it for a while if it is the 6oz tub. Starting with the Gentleman makes an ‘epic’ shave quite likely... Interesting. I don’t have you down as putting in for the bowl on the raffle. Sorry if I made a mistake. I was only pointing out that I’m not going to make that lather bowl (figured maple with walnut rim) any more. On to something else. Maybe some shaving soap bowls or different brush styles. Not completely sure yet. I hope things settle down for you pretty soon, Brian. Great looking gear today! Cool photo, Fuzzy. Can’t help you with a G8, but my G4 is a great shaver.
Favorite February February 17 - A week with Mitchell's Wool Fat - Day 2 Razor - Gem MMOC Blade - ASR Carbon - CVS (2) Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Brush - 30DC LE Post - Alum How do you lather the Fat if it's giving you problems? (It isn't giving me any but just in case someone is) Make sure to soak the puck for about 20 minutes. Get a synthetic brush and dip it in water about 15 seconds. Shake vigorously just so it won't release any water. Load the brush on the puck for about 30 seconds or until it's clearly full. Face lather to a super slick and cushy lather and repeat for as many passes as you want. I guarantee you'll get at least 5. And, with that short of a load time I'm thinking the already nearly impossible to use up Fat puck will become nearly eternal. Great lather, smooth shave, three full passes and I squeezed a full handful of lather out of the brush at the end, and the baby is in the house once again. Yep. It's that easy. The OCMM is a fine shaving machine once you get it dialed in.
Hey, just because you love them doesn't mean that an absence every now and then isn't a nice thing! Besides, if they begin to catch on you're enjoying yourself just remind them that absence makes the heart grow fonder. You're talking those three hour naps for THEIR benefit.
Mine is ready to go Monday morning in your honor. Enjoy the razor. I love it when everything comes together.
Fab Feb For Sunday's shave I pulled out the big guns AoS tallow soap and AoS cream and made a super lather. The Dovo had a wonderful edge, it has been a joy to own, eye candy, is a loud shaver and easy to maintain. Four passes and I am ready to start my day.
