Thank you Keith - and your Kamisoris are the standard so that means a lot! This was a 2014 that I was lucky enough to purchase second hand at the end of that year. I enjoy it but don’t use it as much as I should. Cool razor for a special occasion I guess.
I tried using asymmetrical kamisoris a couple of times, I just could not contort my self enough to get a good shave.
I agree that I am not practiced enough with one hand to get as good a shave as normal. But it is fun to try.
Looks like some of you are breaking out the BIG GUNS. Me, I'll just show my little Sheffield razor I just rescued, and restored. I had a three day old beard. Geez, lots of gray now. This newly honed razor sliced through the whiskers, like they weren't even there. 2 pass shave, with BDBS results. I do like these old blades. Razor- George Wostenholm & Sons, EBRO, Sheffield. Wacker Chevalier unknown Vetiver soap Zenith boar Nice shave this morning. Enjoyed the Vetiver soap even though I can't remember what kind it is. It's a straight mild vetiver with no additional notes. I'm thinking of taking apart the Zenith and seeing what makes it tick but the reality is it's a pretty darn good brush as it is. When I bought it it was listed as 28mm x 57 but it must have been a typo because all the info since indicates it as 26 x 57. The dimentions are close to what I do with the big Omegas. It'll be a good brush once fully broken in. Have a good one.
It has been said before but needs to be said again... got to be one of the most beautiful razors out there today!!!
Thank you. It is a good shaver that (IMO) feels small in the hand and precise. I have had multiple shaves with this razor where I feel no burn with the application of aftershave. I would also admit that finishing with a black arkie has also contributed to the no burn. I do struggle with with a bit with the arkie. I miss my edge about half the time and need to take it back to the stone to hit a good (great) edge. I'm not used to that but it's a reality so far with the Akansas stones. I'm finally getting the black arkie where it needs to be (broken in properly, burnished).
