  2. Well, there's always driving Uber on your lunch break, or slipping off after work to sell a pint of blood.

    Face Shave (3 days growth)
Pre-shave: hot shower & Nivea Men Sensitive Face Wash
    Brush: Barburys synthetic
    Soap: Arko
    Razor: GEM Junior
    Blade: GEM stainless (4)
Post-shave: Dickinson's Original WH, Nivea Men Sensitive PS Balm, Aqua Velva Musk AS / Cologne

We're under a Winter Storm Warning tonight through tomorrow, may get anywhere from 10" to 14" of snow. It's been snowing and blowing for the past 7 hours already. We brought mom home to stay with us for a couple of nights so we wouldn't have to worry about her. Afterwards I enjoyed a very nice shave. The Arko works remarkably well. This is maybe my 4th time using it? Maybe the 3rd? I like it. Thanks again, Chris @SharptoothC for sending it to me!

The Junior razor is working extremely well as well as the GEM blade even after 4 uses. I achieved a DFS and a very nice post shave.

One of the nice things about being retired? I do not have to go out and drive around in this weather anymore! :happy088:

Since I'll likely be cooped up inside for the next 24 hours or so, I may find the time to take photos of the presents my Bride gave me for Valentine's Day and post them. You may find some of them pretty cool.

I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great week!

  4. It really is an awesome looking brush. Luckily, it’s a good performer for you too. For the price, it’s hard to beat.

For the most part, my wife doesn’t really care what I buy (within reason). But, I just bought two brushes, and we’re going to the Maggard’s meet up in June, so I’m sure I’ll blow some money there. ;)

  6. 10/4:)! Sounds reasonable. I’m very pleased for you that you’re going to Maggard’s. Start a thread about it with pics when you get back.

  9. You’re being the “good son” again! Props for that!

Nice photo and gear, Dan! Arko is pretty decent soap. It always fascinates me how the lather just explodes. It’s not my favorite soap, however, I do like it and it works very well.

    Stay warm and safe!

  10. Thanks, Bruce!

I think part of it is that she's being a great mom. She knows I'd be worried about her for a couple of days because of the storm, so she agrees to stay here. The bonus for her is that my wife is a great cook and she eats well. :eatdrink020:

  12. Donate plasma. You can go twice a week, and they have cookies. How do you think I pay for all this crap?

  14. Well, there are other bodily fluids you can sell, but you might wind up with more Father's Day cards than you expect.
  15. Maybe I can help you with this G8 thing.

Ask @Keithmax, he can verify, because some guys like to prepare to go out in a different way.

    We use a G6!

Works better than scars, but scars still help.

  18. Don’t buy into the whole cookie enticement. They always say that. If I had a dollar for every time someone in this group offered up cookies...

  20. You've almost been here a year, right? We didn't mention the "probationary period."

    Sorry, apologies.

We'll soon tell you where we keep the stash.
