Tonight's shave was with a newly Acquired, newly Restored, and freshly Honed. I've always liked the looks of this style Crown and Sword, but they can be pricey. So, I obtained a project one, and restored it, as best I could, without loosing details on the blade. I had a wonderful 2 pass shave, that left me with a BBS face. Only one tiny weeper, I didn't feel. Now I know why these are snatched up so fast. Razor- Crown and Sword. ERN. Wald Solingen. Made in Germany. Brush- B400 By Tom Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Telescope Decanter. Circa 1977-1983.

Today's shave Hot water wash with a washcloth Rubberset 400 /high mountain silvertip badger Test Depth Above the Tie Calypso R1 Voschod (2) Iced Aqua Velva ice blue Very nice shave, very close to perfection. I veered away from the cool water aroma of test depth by mixing the iced ice blue on the finish. The result was/ is very nice. I feel it may of made the Aqua Velva louder, I'm hoping it lasts as well. The ATT R1 may be the perfect shaver for me, it always leaves me silky smooth and very comfy. Hope y'all did as well, or better.

Evening single pass head shave. SBS with Mamba handle. I'm undecided about this razor. I can get a fine shave from it but..the handling is awful (it's a freaking sledgehammer) and I end up using only one side (SB). Anybody use this as a daily driver? A good close shave but not much fun. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Okay, that's some seriously custardy looking lather. My favorite type of lather. Reminds me of the Catie's Bubbles Florentine Fern I shaved with this morning. The creaminess was just off the charts. Looks like that soap is similar.

Yeah. I read different things online and most said you could use the new blades with no issue so I gave it a try. I ran a stack of the old blades that came in the magazine through the razor about 5 times. I polished the blades up so they were clean (I was not going to use them) and wanted to make sure the mechanism path would be cleaned up. So far the new blades worked fine. Hopefully it continues to give me no trouble. The mechanism works flawless. This B2 is a really neat design and I am really digging it. I am surprised you don't see more of them. Steve
Favorite February February 19 - A week with Mitchell's Wool Fat - Day 4 Razor - Gem MMOC Blade - ASR Carbon - CVS (4) Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat Brush - Jayaruh #46 Post - Alum Whew! What a three day run. I'm tired, a bit cranky, but the beds were sold in mass quantities. Now, if I can only survive until Thursday I get two days off in a row. The shave tonight helped me relax after a late night. Day four on the Fat and the blade as well. The JR46 tamed the Fat instantly. Shortest load time I've had ever, I think, with the MWF. Three full passes and so much left in the brush I could have odne at least three more. On the 4th shave the blade is showing just a hint of drag. That will probably get it retired tonight. But the BBS finish with quiet alum and no blood - it's just how we do it around here! Hope your Monday was a good one!
