Great looking lineup and photo Andrew. Perhaps the brush will improve in lather retention once it is broken in better.
Thank you, Jim! Thanks Clint, using a new brush with the smaller VdH soap bowl makes me think that it was probably just an under-loading issue.
Thank you, Bruce. That’s a cool looking razor, Jim. Excellent, Keith! Another great photo, Clint. Nice shave, Perry. Hope you have a great day too. Congratulations on the progress you’ve made. There’s more to come! Terrific photo, Mark! Nice travel set-up, Brian! Well-done! Hope you’re back down to earth, Rick. I nearly came under the spell of that Siren. It was frightening.
It was an interesting drive from the airport to Colorado Springs last night. Over two hours of poor visibility. Back to Denver this afternoon and it looks a lot better
Razor: Merkur 34c Blade: Astra SP Brush: Bluebeard's Revenge Doubloon Soap: Proraso White Aftershave: Alum & Nivea Sensitive What an awesome shave... Dare I say the best I have had since starting this journey! Skin stretching on my cheeks has yielded amazingly smooth results with just 2xWTG passes! I took it really easy on my neck area - didn't stretch the skin and really rode the cap heavy there... I think I have a couple of ingrown hairs (the red spots I have been complaining about). Overall, chuffed with the shave and really like the feel of the Proraso on my face (no burning sensation)! The only thing I'll be changing about this setup is the brush... I've got 100 Astra SPs to get through!
Kirstie Allie tweeted out today that curling was boring. The US Men's team tweeted back that her movies weren't exactly riviting either.
Think she takes PED? I'm guessing Vodka does the job. Glad that Proraso White is working out for you. I like it for the easy lather and the scent is good, too. What's up with your brush? Is it this one? Looks like a standard issue boar bristle in a wooden handle. They may start out scratchy, but softening happens through repeated use. Those 100 Astras could be a year to two's worth of shaves. Good choice, and if you are a thrifty shaver no need to sample others if those are working well.
