Try Fencing. Basically, the announcer would be "They move back and forth repeatedly... They've stopped, and the referee is counting, then points to X" "They've started dancing back and forth again. They've stopped again."

If you don't know what's going on, it has to be more boring than watching grass grow.

I hadn't shaved since Sunday morning so I had over two days' stubble to mow this evening. Two passes did the job well. The TSD Sandalwood soap is a very pleasant and straightforward woody scent. I will enjoy using it this week. Beyond that, nothing to report.

Too much protective equipment? I understand the face covers - no Heidelberg scars.

Received a package from Great Brittan today - Palmolive sticks shipped at $2.045 / stick. I was forced to purchase a pair to get that price but I'm OK with that. Kind of rushing my normal 36-48 hours between shaves but I was anxious to see if it's as good as I remember. Yup, good soap! Wet my face and rubbed the stick on what little stubble I could feel. In with the soft old boar brush and knew I needed more soap so I rubbed a little into the bowl. Lather happened, and I commenced beard reduction. Had a Kai blade setting out so it got loaded in the empty DE, and it didn't disappoint either. Three passes, and mostly skipped the clean up. The lather rinsed easily out of razor, brush, and off my face. There was still some bits of soap in the textured grooves of the bowl so it's preloaded for next shave. Skipped the alum, straight to the lotion. I could feel the difference of my skin as compared to yesterdays shave. What ever Palm Extract is, I like it.

Good evening everyone. Although I shaved this morning this is the first chance I've had to take a picture and post the shave gear (using a 1970s LP album as the background).

I just shaved 2 days growth from the face. Although I have no idea how many uses this specific blade has it is performing well enough to keep using it. The Mont Blanc Legend post-shave products were a Christmas gift from mom so I wore them in her honor today. Mom and Bride both commented positively to the scent. The weather has eased up and the digging out has begun.

Busy couple of days so I'm a little behind wow so many posts to catch up on!
Monday tried out the new Valentine's gift love the lavender scent of both products in such a big way. Taylor of Old Bond Street is easily my favorite cream I've ever used.
I decided to keep battling artisan and mass market products by shaving with B&M Lime Lavender and Cedar with matching AS. Also a favorite scent of mine. Used the JR 191 Edwin Jager DE 89 and a feather blade for both shaves.

I don't know much about saber, but in foil fencing, which is what I was taught, much of that protective equipment (nowadays) is sensors.

Very VERY short description of foil fencing.

You have attack, parry, riposte, and so forth. When one gets a 'touch', it's only a legitimate touch if it's 1) not parried, and (if not the first attack), you properly parried the previous attack, and 2) on the proper part of the body. I got really good at getting a touch on the back of my opponent, but then I fenced left-handed. _Good_ fencers, or really bad fencers, can keep up a parry/riposte process for up to three minutes, from personal experience. By that time, you're about to fall over from exhaustion. Usually, it's less than 15 seconds. So you end up with a flurry of activity, then a stop while they work out whether or not the touch was good. It's boring for anyone but fencers. Even for fencers, it can be dull.

The three types are foil, épée, and sabre - sabre gives the scars, épée would give holes, and foil is like a whip with a button on the end.

When we talk about a Rule we talk about a 30 Day Rule. But why 30? I mean, I had this razor tamed and totally under control after a couple of weeks. Put it down. Move on. Sounds good, right? Well tonight, on day 21 with the razor, I became a living example of why we do 30. I've been getting nothing but near perfection until tonight. But, tonight, on a new blade and with a lather as good as MWF can get, I screwed up. I let my mind wander a bit about a change in soaps, plans for March Madness and all that. What did it cost? Well I'm only at DFS even on a new blade and......I have a handful of nicks and a weeper or two on top of nice and hot alum all over. Yep, I forgot to respect this razor and my newness to it and just screwed it all up. Now, it's not the end of the world, but it's a great lesson in paying attention for the entire time. Am I much improved with a razor that even @wchnu always respects due to its tendency to bite back? Sure I am. Am I its Master? Nope. Not yet. But I have 9 more shaves to get it right and get a lot closer. Technique Trumps Tools. Lack of technique gives the tools the advantage.
