I've never used Maas but the NevRDull is really simple. It's a cotton wadding impregnated with polish. You just scrub lightly until it's as shiny as you want and buff with a clean cloth. I've used it for years on autos and motorcycles. I wouldn't use it on gold because of the lacquer. The best thing for gold is a soft toothbrush, dish soap and warm water.

I use the pens to touch up razors I keep for myself. I'd never sell a razor without disclosing if it was altered, but the pens are great for temporarily touching up the rings and indicators my Fat Boy's or my 195. They have a very fine point and the ink is only semi permanent and can be removed.

    Scrubbing Bubbles...and NO BOILING

    Hello all,
The SB's is one he** of a way to bring the ugliest razors back to life!!!
Here is what I do, especially if the razor is really an uggo!

Get a small container (an empty margarine container for example) and spray the razor, once the bubble calm down..spray again...and again..The point is, after a few sprayings...the razor should now be soaking in the pure liquid left by the SB's. Leave it in for several hours...then using a toothbrush give it a good scrub...dip the toohbrush in the SB liquid several times while scrubbing.

The results are unbelivable!!! After a good scrubbing, wash it in plain warm water. Then Polish with MAAS...I have turned razors that were almost pure black with tarnish, vertigris, etc...and 9 out of ten time the razor will look like new!!!

    Hope this helps!!

    Regards,

I'm testing Oxy Clean today. I got some old razors off ebay for cheap because they were less than pretty. Soaking them all day in an water/Oxy Clean solution, we'll see what happens.

One of them is almost entirely black, I think it's an Old Type.

MAAS and Neverdull ARE NOT to be used on lacquered surfaces.

Most gold razors have a lacquer on them.

    Use at your own risk.

I found that out the hard way... I had a nice gold Aristocrat, went to polish the 'silo doors' with MAAS and the Dremel with a polishing wheel.

It got shiny all right... chrome shiny. :(

Well, since you got the process started, you might as well go all the way.

I use Scrubbing Bubbles as well.

But have begun to rethink using them on gold-plated razors. I think the SB may also take off some of the lacquer - the SB liquid after cleaning a gold razor has always been kind of "goldish" colored.

    Anyone else notice that?

Chris said it correctly for gold razor cleaning -- soft toothbrush, dish washing soap, and warm water. I wouldn't use any chemicals on the gold.

That make me mad right there:mad: I think that seller bids on his own auctions to drive the prices up. I remember watching a couple he was selling not to long ago that were just plain old superspeeds that were not replated with over 20 bids on each and the selling prices were over $50

    A+

I picked up SB a few days ago and it worked great on my Merkur Futur. There was visible soap scum on the thing and I just sprayed it down and let it sit for a minute or two, rinsed it off with hot water and now it looks brand new. No scrubbing for me but my Futur is still new so it probably didn't need much cleaning to begin with.
