FAVuary Inspired Shave Palmolive Classic shave stick Shavey Awards Semogue boar Suribachi bowl & cool water '59 Gillette Fat Boy & Astra SP Murray & Lanman Florida Water Reading through SOS (although I always think SOTD) I saw a couple members mention Florida Water. Bingo - Inspired! Already planned to get in another lather with my newest soap and a sniff of both worked scent wise. I'm not a Face Latherer because I get better results working from a bowl so I scrubbed the stick for what I thought would give a decadent DECember type load. This stick probably will end up grated and smashed into a container. Moistened my only Green / only Semogue boar and sure enough got a great batch of suds. After moving a slightly used Astra into the #195, checking to see it was on number nine, and locking the last quarter turn I did my 3 passes. Plenty of lather so chin buffing and G-Slides happened, too. A nice DFS and only slightly reopened a scab on my chin from previous Schick shave. Ghost of a nick from that shiny Blackbird loan would heal up if I'd quit hitting it. A double splash of Fla H2O gave a nice alcohol burn and smells like springtime. Good Shaves Y'all!
Well here it is gentlemen, last shave of my 30day rule. No muss, no fuss, just smooth skin. I really learned alot since I joined here . 1. Technique is 99% of your success, work hard at this part 2 .Be patient 3. If you are unsure..Just ask, you'll always get your answer 4. Don't chase the baby 5. If it's not working, go back to step 1. Thanks guys for getting me through this. Happy shaves
Favorite February February 23 - A week with Tabac - Day 3 Razor - Gem MMOC Blade - ASR Carbon - CVS (4) Soap - Tabac Brush - 30DC LE Post - Alum Wasn't sure I'd get a shave in tonight. We went out for a couple of drinks which is something we rarely do. Of course the fact I rarely drink anything other than koolaid, coffee and water plays into that. But, there was a get together in a favorite hangout that we went out to. Had a nice relaxing evening and I still had time to get my shave on when we got home. Day three with Tabac, day four on the blade and the LE brush whipped the lather up in about next to nothing. Yep. That fast. Three full passes, the baby is in the house, I believe the blade is good for another shave tomorrow and I'm calling it the perfect end to a very nice evening. Hope you have great plans for the weekend! It's raining like crazy here again so we're clearly in an early monsoon season along the rivers.
Most Excellent! Glad we could be here for the past 30 days and we can't wait to see what you have on tap next! Love the summary. You nailed all the main points!
Nice vivid pic of cool gear, Dan. Palmolive and Florida Water? Yup. Great job on the 30day rule! I’ll even forgive you the Maple Leafs gear...
February MMXVIII A.D. Focused on Favorites Thursday Today Palmolive is now a fave. The scent is excellent! Apologies again for the lack of shave posts, but I tried to keep the fun going. @9nein9 - congrats, you are one of us now! Great progress, looking forward to shavette? Gonna be fun! @Norcalnewb - thanks again for the soap. @Keithmax - great razor, awesome shave with the @gssixgun edge still taking names. And in honor of the USA women and because watching online with @jtspartan was such fun, I smoked two Canadians today. And now for your regularly scheduled Friday Night Funk Break...also solid advice on life and shaves. Be more patient and generous than normal tomorrow. You never know who needs you. Other than that... All is quiet in Colorado. Have a great evening.
Urgh. I just went through 17 some-odd pages. Good thing I'm a speed reader. Two shaves in two days. Normally I only go every other day, but I felt extra grubby today after putting 15 network cables into an office - and I still have to clean up their old wiring. Last night I went back to ARKO because I just wanted to. Good solid two pass shave, but when I was done, I noticed that the AstraSP in my Aristocrat was showing some odd yellow/browning on the sides. Not sure if it's from the razor, the soap, or what. Cleaned, put back in, and put up. Today was back to Williams, and I did a fast one pass shave to just clean things up. Apparently -too- fast, as I nicked my chin, but not enough to need more than a touch of a styptic pencil. (By fast, I mean lots less than a minute to do the whole face, not including the lathering) I may change the blade early, just because of the funky colour.
February 24 SOTD: Razor: Razorock Hawk V2 Blade: Kai Titan Mild Brush: Stirling Marble Lather: Stirling Green Aftershave: Stirling Green Additional Care: Stirling Unscented PSB What a great shave this morning. After two skipped days, I got a BBS on two passes with the Hawk. Smooth and easy with a great scent as well. I am off to work, but hopefully for only a few hours. I hope everyone has a great day!
