I certainly don’t consider myself an expert, but have extracted a few from resin handles fairly successfully. I saw below the base of the knot and ‘creep up’ on it until I have knot base visible. Used a belted sander on one. I use a cutting tool in a Dremel to cut away the sides of the handle. I make a series of vertical cuts through (gently) to the knot. How much ‘persuasion’ needed is based on how well it was epoxied. Grinding tool to finish, if necessary.

Thank you, Clint. The handle has a nice patina to it now. It is roughly 4 months older than the first 30DC handles.
Razor: Merkur 34c Blade: Astra SP (3) Soap: Proraso White Post Shave: Alum block & Nivea Sensitive Just about the best shave that I have had so far. Feels brilliant... Having gained a little confidence with the 2xWTG passes, I added a little XTG touch up to the lower cheek/jawline area and the chin. This is conjunction with the skin stretching (on the face) has yielded a nice shave and left my face feeling great! I am definitely going to continue to shave WTG for both passes on my neck for now, but am gradually going to make the second pass an XTG pass to try to enhance my shaves... Though of course, not at the expense of comfort! Cheers for all of the advice so far gents - it's really helping me along! Bring on March's rule!
And having the extra hardware in the kitchen makes salad prep a snap! I thought the Suribachi bowl was for making lather, but who am I to question a kitchen shaver?
I keep shave soaps and creams that are not in the current rotation in the refrigerator. Always have. If the product container is not air tight, I will place it in a zip lock bag. (You don't want the leftover meatloaf tasting like Arko.) We have an extra fridge with space, and I keep it all together in a small plastic bin. I figure it can't hurt, and it may even help preserve some of the products until they are used. Container identification is a must. Otherwise, you could ruin an entire lasagna and risk a tummy ache if you mistake the Williams for mozzarella.
Almost forgot, I vacuum pack brushes that aren't in the current rotation, place them in Mason jars, and bury them in the backyard until needed. The animal hair benefits from year-round 55 deg F temperature control.
Oh I am sure he does. But I am doing NB'18 and am trying desperately at least to match last year's stellar performance. My NB'17 lasted clear through to March 3... (Is there an emoticon for twiddling your thumbs while waiting another week?) Actually, the rules of NB'18 say you can't buy anything except to replace a category of product that has run out. With the untimely demise of my Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar brush, I now have no boar brushes. Could I commission a Jayaruh brush and argue that that was still within the rules of NB so long as he fitted it with an Omega boar knot and not, say, a synthetic? Maybe I should seek a ruling...
