I got an opportunity to try an AR15 fitted with a binary trigger system. Preferable to a bump stock in my cousins opinion. Takes a couple mags to get used to; pull-pop! release-pop! It's a little cumbersome for home defense. He's getting proficient at putting them down range. Two 30 round mags in about 16 seconds including swapping magazines. Not sure how many hit the target since it was already marked up from previous plinking.

Eating a large can of beans can act much like mace ... ask my family.

 

Mainly a couple of hundred pounds of German Shepherd. Then a Winchester 1300, followed and or accompanied by a Ruger SP 101.

I suppose it depends, but mostly I put my faith in the dogs. I operate on the “just be a harder target than the people next to you” philosophy, and those overpriced mutts fit that bill.

When she went away for school I set my daughter up with a Maglite flash light. Showed her how to rest that stack of D cell batteries on her shoulder while gripping the flared end at neck level. Put her in a good position to whop an intruder if needed.

I open carry a Taurus Judge Public Defender. Usually two .45 colts on top of three .410 buckshot. I keep a Mossberg 500 12ga stuffed with Federal tactical 00 buck near my recliner and a HR pardner 12 Ga stuffed with critical defense 00 buck and a side saddle full next to the bed. When I travel the HR goes with me.

For those not familiar the HR is a chinese clone of the 870. Built like a Abrams 1A1/2 though.
