What are you waiting on to arrive...?

FYI, there seems to be some variation in those plastic boxes, specifically the area where the handle is supposed to go. Not too long ago, @NCoxSTL sent me a box for my Bakelite Tech, but I can't, for the life of me, get the Bakelite handle to sit in the groove such that I can close the case.

 

That... or there's a narrower version of the handle out there.

I saw that group as well (glad you got it), and the gold one did peak my interest, but I walked away.

 

From what I've seen, these two cases that I have are are the most common types for the bakelite tech.

 

I think I've also seen the Bakelite Tech bare in just a shipper.

I've got cases in both styles, but I can't seem to get the handle from my Bakelite Tech to fit in the case I have in the style on the right.

Thrifty as I am; my current ones were bought for my youngest son from Cabela's in 2009. In 2013 he gave them to me after receiving new ones. These LL Bean are NOS so will last me a while.

I don't think I've ever seen a Hoffritz Futur for sale, let alone at a good price. These were sold by Hoffritz NYC even before Merkur began direct sales in 1985, and the origin story is mysterious and controversial.

Congrats! I’ve seen a few and to be honest never really paid much attention to them. I’m happy with the Ming Shi version and the futur never really did anything for me. Now the vision... lol that’s a whooole different story!

The Futur is neither my favorite but I'm fascinated by some of this history and want to see how this early version compares to my QShave. To be honest the Vision looks like a preposterous design in terms of handling and has never interested me, especially at going prices.
