I don't shoot it much, anymore, and I've never noticed it rotating. But, then again, I can handle bigger guns than most, because of my size. 6'2", 280, and not fat. I will have to look to see who was the manufacturer of my ammo was.

Oooh yeah. You have me by four some inches and 80 lbs. Probably proportionally larger hands. My hands are square and 'medium'. Which, oddly enough, means that guns like the Makarov/PA-63/CZ-82(3) fit my hand very well, but more popular American styled ones don't. The really _old_ Colt style revolver grip - the really skinny one - fits great to me.

Glad you're okay, and that it didn't strike you dead on. One friend of my wife (before Harvey) had a tree punch straight through her living room roof. That made Harvey fun, because I don't think they'd finished getting it repaired by then.

Again, you aren’t posting what I quoted.

Fine. You meant it as a joke. You win. But you misquoted me and then called me an idiot for calling you out on YOUR OWN WORDS.
You aren’t a Forum Warrior, have a good day.

How did I miss this thread :)

I live in the wild wooly woods on North Idaho my nearest neighbor is about 1/2 mile away
My threats at home would possible be a Bear or a Mth Lion we have Wolves visit now and then but really if you yell at them they usually run
The one animal that will flat stomp you into the ground is a pissed Mama Moose

    Outside the kitchen window

We do have the occasional Meth Heads that will do break ins up here, but they tend to do that in town, as out in the Backwoods it can get dangerous really fast

This is from a few years back when two of my students Belted up :) I can handle myself,,, but I tend to CCW anymore,, a 10mm S&W is my normal carry weapon of choice for out here

The 45- 70 Marlin Guide Gun is the Cabin Gun that I guess we would consider the goto Home Defense weapon

I didn't call you an idiot. You quoted my entire post. You then apparently referenced the center of the post using the words from the last line, immediately after the last line. I then took it as that you were referencing the last line. If you were referencing the middle of the post - why did you include the end, or at least not mention the gun in question? That's why I remove everything except what I'm referring to, both in forums and in emails. It's too easy to end up with confusion, and then some people can take it as a deliberate offense. (Ergh. My browser is dragging.. This is taking forever to type, and keeps halting)

    Have a good evening.

Can you NOT read a screenshot? It isn’t edited. The post is still there. LOL. Good try. I’m tapping out. You win.

Good choices, where you live. I don't know how much good a sword would be, for those women, against a hungry Mtn Lion, or a pissed off Moose, but, something is better than nothing.

I've thought about a sword, but it has the same problem as a long gun. You have to stick it too far out in front of you. You'll lose the element of surprise, and run the risk of losing the weapon. Mind you, a burglar will probably pass out laughing when you yell "En Garde!" The previously mentioned machete is probably a much better bladed choice.

Don't get me wrong, swords will work. They are just not the best in close quarters. I've seen burglars run off after a few chops with a sword. Machetes are much easier to wield.

Ummm the Swords are for the Belt test they just passed
For the 1st Degree Black Belt as the Instructor we give

    The Belt
    The Diploma
    A New Gi Top
Sword of Rank, they are only Display swords, they are Carbon Steel and can be used for light Demo but not for cutting demo's

Just a tradition not meant for Self Defense at all :)

Don't put the sword into the belt, or else your pants will fall down?

And here I thought you would teach them how to use swords. Thanks for clarifying.

Why go around a corner at all. They can come around the corner to me. Nothing beats buckshot at defense distance. Unless they are shooting at me through the wall or breaking in a door. In that case I will be repairing a wall or door.

Sounds like a state farm mayhem commercial. Glad it was not worse!!!

I have a samurai sword, a flashlight-taser, and a pair of handcuffs. Guns have a nasty tendency to go off at the wrong moment and at the wrong people.

All legitimate ways of defending your home. But, with the proper training and knowledge, of gun owners, those guns will not have a nasty tendency to go off at the wrong moment, at the wrong people. Guns don't make the wrong decisions, untrained, and jumpy gun owners do.
What it all boils down to, is that if one isn't comfortable owning and using a gun, one shouldn't own a gun.
