  1. March 13

Kept the setup but switched blade. The Astra SP got the call and showed off its stuff. Mountain Man soap did the job for the lather and the Astra and Fatboy delivered a blood free and smooth DFS. Very nice.

17 days to the move and packing is progressing. Utility change overs done. Just a few more items to nail down. Already planning on how to best set up cartel HQ when we get there. Life is good.

Nice to see the shavette crew making progress and a lot of great gear out there again this month. March Madness is living up to its name!

  2. I feel the same way, hate that tight feeling, but I endure it for the feed back, even though Clubman often tells me even more about the quality of the shave, which lately has been markedly better.

  3. Well done! Sounds like you and I are similar trajectories. Is that a Rockwell 6 S?

  4. That gives me a great idea, I should get my Nikon 3400 out and try figure out photography, now that the shaving is coming along. Perhaps even find a way to marry the two arts.

  7. Had same problem here . I threw caution to the wind and went ATG myself and banged out a great shave . The shavette is a different beast but I know it can be tamed .

  8. Yea. We are Gangsta like that...

Have a great trip. Hope you take a stick to keep the youngens in line.

I know exactly what your doing wrong.....

Looks like the garden hose lost the fight. I love that brush!!!

    That sounds awesome.

I brought the Electric Sheep back out with the big ole B-400 boar. This stuff really does work nice! My favorite 1912 with a ASR blade did its work. I was kinda feeling down about the shave after my second pass. The Witch Hazel clean up pass got it sorted out. On another note I should use the Gillette Coolwave more. Not bad stink at all.

  18. Shave #12 in the books.

    Slim 4
    Rapira Swedish Supersteel (2)
    Yaqi Slivertip
    Proraso Red Preshave
    Tabac Shave Soap
    Speick AS Splash
    Proraso Blue PS Balm

A DFS used pinch too pressure in a couple of trouble spots, which the alum identified with with a little heat, and got a couple of weepers. I find shaving a 36 hour beard, much easier than a 24 hour bread. Still a pretty great shave.

Came home and turned on the BBC World Service to discover Stephen Hawkins had passed away. Sad evening in the world of science. On that somber note I will say have a nice evening everyone.

Another great shave this morning. The big WWB 30mm Tuxedo ate through the Jeeves Bay Rum and whipped up a rich slick lather. I changed up the 3 passes today going XTG, ATG and XTG which worked better for me at reducing the amount of touchups required. I ended up just missing the baby. A splash of Krampert's Bay Rum and I am ready for the morning commute. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
