I've just had my first DFS! Went with the grain on the first 2 passes, then across the grain on the third. I then decided to brave some touch-up on the jawline and neck area. Man, my face has never felt this smooth! No irritation/burn... The alum sang a little bit on the areas I touched up (I was guilty of going over the same spot without cream a few times)! I am really starting to see what is possible with this way of shaving! It's bloody marvellous!
Does running out of an ASB and buying something different go against the idea of the rule? My Nivea Sensitive is almost up (1/4 bottle left), and I'm thinking of trying the Arko classic cream!
Great progress James. Congrats. I would say that ASB fall into the Aftershave category and have no bearing on the rule.
Replenishing a product, such as a shave cream, you've used up does not violate NB. If your net inventory gain is zero, I'd say it's OK. (It seems to me that the spirt of NB is to eliminate unnecessary spending. If you run out of shave cream, for example, then you need to replace it.)
/begin Shavette Fu mega quote Thank you Andrew, Clint, Jim, John, & Jason! @jtspartan - I've got my eye on a cypress at the edge of my fathers orchard. It might be on the undeveloped lot next door so I plan to harvest the whole tree this year before anyone builds a house there. If I recall, it's a good 10 - 12" in diameter at ground level, maybe 40' tall. Also keeping my eyes open for that old lathe someone's done using. Harbor Freight has discontinued their smaller table top model, and the store here in town already sold out. Northern Tool & Equipment only sells big $4K commercial sized machines. I'm with Clint on this one. It's a Rule, but open to your interpretation. Considering post shave products don't directly influence razor handling or lather making technique, and you're in need of replacing a finished product. Clint @clint64 - all Pinaud products vetoed because of Clubman? Even Lime Sec, Vanilla, Special Reserve? Is Canoe too close to Clubman? /end Shavette Fu mega quote
I might try some other Pinaud products in the future. I have a drawer full of aftershaves that need to be thinned down first. In the meantime, I have the barbershop scents covered with Floid Blue and F/Extra now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here are the Clubmen I may try in the future: (in no particular order) 1.Musk 2. Whiskey Woods 3 Lime(for the summers). But I will ALWAYS have Clubman Original, and the Clubman Country Club Shampoo as part of my lineup.
Walgreens carries it around here. Often in the gift set area near the colognes, so you get both the AS and cologne.
