    Colonial Razors Brass General
    Feather Super Pro
    WDC-6 with El Druida Manchurian
    Nuàvia Blu

A new week brings a change of razor and brush. The brass General and the WDC-8 are just meant to be used together. Since the brass General is little on the mild side so the Feather Super Pro really makes a huge difference in the shave. The Nuàvia Blu was easy to lather and the complex scent filled the room. Three passes and touch ups easily caught the baby. To make the most of the lather I squeezed the brush and rubbed the lather on my face and rinsed it off after cleaning up the brush. A splash of witch hazel with menthol and I am off to visit my Mom for the day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
  2. Nice feeling getting the TSD Splash(Russian Leather)back on my face. I'm platooning that one with my Stoylin Sandpiper, as both are getting pretty low, thus it's time to conserve them so long as I can,
  3. Beautiful picture, Clint! Enjoy your time with your mom.

  4. That brush and razor are a great match.

Is your brass model milder than your aluminum was? Or is it the same? I have only used the SS a couple of times. It did just fine, but its next blade, it is doing to get a Super. In the Aluminum, I could really go either way, but the Super sure makes it crazy efficient.

Say hi to Ma for me!

    March 18 SOTD:

    Razor: Vanta
    Blade: Derby Premium
    Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Aurora
    Lather: Stirling San Antonio
Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Gratiot League Square
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

After a no shave day yesterday, it felt good to get a nice one pass CCS this morning. I do like this razor. This brush whips up a terrific lather, especially with the Stirling. To top it all off, I used this new Chatillon Lux Gratiot League Square AS, which is also top notch. A great start to my Sunday. I hope everyone has a great day!
  6. I feel for you. Soon the whole move thing will be over.

    Great soap, BTW!
  7. Even with your slight adjustment in products, I would still say that you are showing more restraint that 95 percent of people who come to TSD, and you are going to get better, faster for it.
  8. I am kind of with you on the user grade thing. It is very much an individual razor by razor thing for me though. I could look at one old Super Speed and think it looks like a throwaway; look at another in virtually the same condition, and see a new friend. Keep looking. You’ll see one one day that flips your minnow. Thing is, with buying user grade vintage, you can always get your money back out of it. Or try it out, if you like it, get it plated.

No sir. I set it and forget it. Just like inexpensive kitchen appliances.

There are people who do like to adjust up or down mid shave. If that gives you a better result, have at it. The coolest part about shaving is that you can try it differently tomorrow.
  9. Thank you, Clint!

Good morning to everyone. Nice morning, nice shave and a nice breakfast. My wife thought my breakfast was weird, leftover corned beef with fried eggs on top. She wouldn't eat any. Her loss, it was tasty!

Two pass shave with touch up. DFS. Comfortable shave, the alum barely spoke.

With the recent talk about sharper blades I'm wondering if the S1 would benefit. The whiskers on my chin and jaw is more coarse. It takes more effort in those areas to keep the razor moving and it does feel as if it tugs more there. I picked up a sample pack of blades when I first started wet shaving. I wanted to get my technique down better before sampling blades so they have sat nearly untouched. I'll continue on with the Astras but I think I'll finish out the month with a sharper blade.

    Good day to all![IMG]

  15. Sorry about the red, Neal. I think the kilt might have gotten you a few more sales...
Great Rick Pic and write up!
    Agreed. Plus Astra, Polsilver, Nacet...
Sounds like a great start to the day. Enjoy your time with your mother, Clint.
Great photo, Jim! I love the Gratiot League Square. Probably a touch more than Unconditional Surrender or Bon Vivant, actually. Splitting hairs though.

A Saturday afternoon at home, Stirling Port au Prince is back on the shelves for spring, a super sharp blade singing on a really nice piece of leather, a few drops of M-Bomb and I had just a fantastic shave. It is good to be home.
  17. Thank you Jim.

  18. I only have the brass Jared. The regular Feather feels a lot like a New LC but the Super makes it much more efficient while still being very smooth.
