Thank you, Clint. I found the strength to be plenty strong enough, to be honest. I really didn’t get it dialed in, though. I loaded a ton of product in the bowl, as I like to make sure not enough soap isn’t an issue when using one for the first time. I couldn’t get the airiness out of it, and when I did, I might have taken it past it’s point. Performance was really good, though. Slick, with no problems with irritation or post-shave.
We were down to near freezing this morning but dry. I know you have to be ready for winter to end. I let things get way out of hand with the soaps. Unfortunately it takes more time to get out of trouble than it did to get into trouble.
Thank you, Gentlemen. Tried for a Rick-inspired vintage look and didn’t pull it off completely to my satisfaction.
You are right about that, Clint! I love the seasons here, but seasons are supposed to end and go onto the next one...it is muddy and messy here right now and an extra inch or so of snow this morning makes it even muddier. Spring is beautiful here, but it needs to come.
A few minutes ago I had a Wolfman razor in cart. Hesitated for a moment and though about the repercussions of spending $330 on a razor with SWMBO and then they went out of stock again. I guess it wasn't meant to be.
I made three pucks out of each of his 6-8oz tubs when I made these, so they were between 2 and 3 ounces. There are three people who have finished four soaps this year. @clint64, @Norcalnewb, and @Keithmax. There must be soap in the cookies. I think we have all been there at least once. I admire your restraint in not purchasing as soon as it was in the cart.
Now that I’m set on razors I don’t even look at his site anymore. When I see what some of the used Wolfman razors sell for I’m amazed and tempted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If it wasn't 1-3/4" thick I might have used it for something else. Should make a stout handle to hold larger diameter knots. I don't need a lathe for the style Jack @Sparrow crafted. The Live Oak hasn't dried well - splits. Pecan is looking good though it's kind of bland when stained.
No shave yesterday as I noticed an irritated patch on my cheek. I'm not sure if this was from the maiden voyage with the Pal Adjustable or something else. Today was a quick but pleasant shave with the Bakelite Tech and a now well-used Nacet blade which seems to still be going strong. The VdH boar shed a couple of bristles though, probably from not being soaked long enough.
Sounds like the shaving gods were looking after you on that one. If you put it in the cart and then decide to hit check out and it is in stock the next time? You'll know the timing was right.
