SOTD March 23rd Schick N1 Injector Schick Proline B-20 Stirling Baker Street Maseto Shaving Classic (30mm, Cruiser class) Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill PSB Outstanding shave this morning with the N1 and Proline blade. The N1 like the other later model Injector razors is very mild, paired with the sharp Proline blade really made for an outstanding combo! I though that I might be able to use up the rest of my Baker Street sample by using the big badger but alas about a quarter sized spot of soap remained. Finished with some Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill PSB, the menthol really creeps up on you with the PSB, it take a few moments after applying it for you to start to feel the tingle and it just builds from there. Have a weekend my friends!! and TGIF!!!
I have an Elite Manchurian and consider it an excellent knot. It holds its own with much more expensive ones in my collection.
Thanks Randy. With such good reviews I am sure I will add one of his complete brushes to my collection at some point. For now I am just enjoying what I have.
TGIF!! Awesome to see Logan each week to remind us of what really matters. Great shave as well! Did you enjoy the Glacial balm?
Oh, my bad. I don't dabble on the Modern Market, just view the pretty pictures. Taking a Blackbird for a test ride was the closest I've been to the latest new stuff. Unless you count waiting for the patent to run out and purchasing a Futur Clone. That's a long term strategy. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
Its all good, My favorite razors don't get enough love as it is. It would be a shame to spend $320 on a razor that will only get used once or twice a year anyway. I don't feel so bad about rotating through my $10 vintage razors.
The Dell is still the champ. I had gotten a new one and retired the Dell. But the new one died so the old girl came out of retirement. Sent from my Z899VL using Tapatalk
March 23, 2018- Fatboy Friday Razor: F2 Gillette 195 Adjustable (5) Blade: Gillette Platinum Plus Brush: VdH Boar Soap: Der Vergulde Hand Post: Alum, Listerine, WH It's Friday and time for another great shave from the Fatboy. Clean, smooth, and all those other adjectives from the old commercials.
Thanks for the comparison, Randy. If I end up getting another badger knot at some point, I will have a hard time passing on this knot again.
Friday March 23 - Bloody Friday Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (2) JR #267 boar The Dry Dock shave bowl Trumper GFT cream Alum and Florida Water and styptic pencil The big boar whipped up a fabulous bowl of lather from the last of the Trumper sample. I thought everything was lined up for a truly epic shave. Then, on the first pass, while shaving N-S under my nose, I went to get the hairs just under my nose and forgot to push my nose far enough out of the way. My blade landed about 3/8" above where I wanted it to be -- squarely on the outer edge of my nostril -- and sliced straight across. I had to suspend the shave while I dug out the styptic pencil to get the slice to quit bleeding into the lather. It kind of soured the mood. Other than that though, it was a good shave. Two passes to a high-grade DFS with no other blood or irritation. And the Florida Water again to cap it off. Hope you all have a great Friday!
