  1. Sorry about the poor shave experience, Jared!

That's a lot of snow still! Ours was gone.... until today. We probably have 3, 4 inches of snow today.... but it's melting fast. Heavy, wet stuff.

Nice set-up. I hate moving, by the way.

    That's great! Here's to your dad.... :eatdrink047:

    Wonderful set-up, Rick!

    Love the picture, Keith!
  2. Nice razor, Jim! Do you find a difference in the shave between the Made in England and the Made in USA flare tips?

Clint.... again another great photo! You should take a really bad picture once a month just to mix it up once in a while. Perfection can be boring too, ya' know? :D

That's an interesting razor... tempting, and inexpensive too.
  3. I'll scratch your name off the list of potential helpers for the weekend. ;)
  4. I hate moving!

I don’t mind helping someone else move.

But yeah... I’ll be busy this weekend. I don’t remember why, but my wife will remind me. :p
  5. Don't worry. My critics at home make sure I know all about my imperfections on a daily basis. :happy097:

  7. Monday March 26 - sampling discontinued soaps to see what I didn't miss

    Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Gillette 7 O'clock (5?)
    JR #267 boar brush
    The Dry Dock shave bowl
    B & M Latha Limon sample
    Alum and Lucky Tiger

Limon is described as a mix of lemon, orange and rose. My highly trained nose detected a mild scent of lemon in the sample. Good lather though.

The Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless blade is still going strong - sharp and smooth on its fifth outing. Two passes gave a high-grade error-free DFS. The Lucky Tiger finished me off with a bright scent of oranges.

Hope everyone has a good week!
  8. Great photo and beautiful Red Tip, Rick!
  9. Great photo...your dad would be proud! Congrats on your success with the shavette as well.
  10. Very nice B&W, Keith! Sounds like I’m going to have an eternity with my puck of Tabac. I got a good chuckle out of your comment on it.
  11. Thanks Dan! Yep, thought to keep up with this thread, ain’t it?
  12. Excellent photo and filter effect, Jim! The Flare Tip looks sweet!
  13. Terrific photo Clint! I really like that brush!
  14. Thank you Bruce.
  15. Great lineup Bruce. I really like the citrus based scents.

  17. Thank you Bruce!

I stopped at a garage sale couple days ago. They had a couple Anchor Hocking glass containers that caught my eye. One had a dozen little bottles of fingernail polish in it. Gave five bucks for the two 2 quart pickle jars with lids, and the paint was free. With a set of twin grand daughters I knew I had a home for the odd colors. When I got home I remembered something @gorgo2 had mentioned. Sure enough I have a couple bottles in the right shade for touch ups or refinish work!

Now to decide if I want to leave it showing the age, or risk stripping and repainting...
  18. Back home after 10 days in California. Part work, part family vacation. All while sick with a sinus infection. Good to be home. Now I need 10 days of sleep to catch back up.
  19. Thank you, Dan! I haven't used a chrome flare tip in a while, so I can't honestly say. At one point, I intended to spend a month on SS based razors just to see what the differences were. I haven't done this yet, obviously.
  20. Thank you, Bruce!
