5/8 EDV NEISTROM Had a wonderful shave with this razor. It took me a few seconds to get used to its thin grind and weight .Once I tweaked my style a little I was BBS in no time .Love how this razor gets in to tight places and how efficient it is in removing whiskers .
Just got this Oleo Soapworks Dapper Man in. Was a limited edition collab with Chicano Shaver on Instagram. It is based off of a cologne called Beach Hut. Performance was awesome! My first set from Oleo. The scent is really nice also. And I swear this Tanifuji gets better every time I use it. Closest shave I’ve had yet and zero irritation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SOTD: Early morning shave using this lovely vintage Sheffield 'stub tail' razor from William Greaves & Sons (circa 1830s); Have a blessed Good Friday, gents!
Brian Brown Kamisori BM Cool Mondial boar My first day of retirement and first kamisori shave. Well, I had a decent shave on the left side of my face but had a few problems with my right side, a couple of pretty good nicks. It was a bit of a mind trip, way too much thinking involved but I learned a few things. I'll see what happens next time. Have a good one.
I can only imagine how sweet that shave must have felt. In a little over two years I’ll know for myself. A special razor with definitely be involved.
This big Napoleon is an exception to my general preference for 5/8 to 6/8 straights. Simply wonderful shave with it just now. Super efficient and smoother than most. Shave #23 with the Cape 1000 edge longevity test razor. After #21, I added 20 passes on softened Kanoyama canvas to 35/65 suede leather, and the smoothness came back. I've been using the canvas only when the edge feels like itbis beginning to lose a little smoothness. The soap was ABC hard soap and the brush was a Simpsons Milk Churn. Cheers, Steve
The grind seems to be the same as any Filarmonica 14, full hollow. Barber models for all razor brands were touted as lasting through more honings, but I don't know if they are really any different than others.
Friday FilaDay Last night after spending time out on the tractor getting the road back into shape from winter I spent some time on the Chosera 10k and my Nakayama with some Kita Slurry tweaking the #13 for this morning's shave.. Used some Un-Obtainium with the stropping on a genuine JimboRoo Strop, and even broke out the discontinued Crabtree & Evelyn Sweet Almond Oil shavecream ShaveMac 26mm in Horn Pinaud Vanilla A/S The edge was a Velvet Squeegee, I have just always been fond of the #13's And yes I really do have decals on the tractor that say "gssixgun" Shave On !!!
Today's shave was with a wonderful Chinese Razor. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, with BBS results. Zero Issues. This is a very nice razor, that should be in everyone's rotation. It can shave just as well as the big named Vintage Blades, for much less. Razor- Chinese "ZY". Brush- Stirling Boar. One of the nicest feeling Boar hair brushes I own. Soap- Arko/Sandalwood Aftershave- Florida Water
