Good grief, this thread moves so fast!

I've been on vacation the past week and wasn't on the forum much. I'll be in for April. I'm hoping to continue to work down some soaps.

Shave 13 of 30

So I'm still working on the shavette from March, so today was only shave 13. Shaving every other day turned out to currently shaving once a week, which doesn't quite work out as well for the shavette. And I feel like I've regressed some. A first WTG pass went well enough, but then I couldn't really figure out everything else. The chin is always the biggest part. So I switched to the Schick E3 which I found new appreciation for, and did like a ATG pass. DSF minus was how it turned out.

So maybe I will shave Tuesday, maybe not. We'll see.

I’m using a Black Beauty and mostly Arko for April.

And BTW- I don’t always play along with the theme for the month, but I enjoy that there is one if I want to.

First shave in the new place and since it's Arko Adjustable April, then I obviously chose Arko and an adjustable razor. And, since I had a three day growth through the move, why not grab the Consul and open that bad boy up to setting "me". Remember, 9 on a Consul is significantly more aggressive, gapwise, than a 9 on a Gillette adjustable. We're up in Futur territory, or Ming-Shi for those who own the clone.

Arko is the gift from Turkey that always delivers one thing. Lather. And lots of it. And it's slick. The 30 DC LE brush did fantastic work and looked good doing it. Two passes and three days of beard is gone. And, as a bonus, my first shave included blood on steel. I skipped the blade on my neck on the second XTG pass and it needed styptic to close the cut. Nothing terribly serious, but I couldn't help but think how appropriate that I'd bleed on the first shave. Perfection.

For the first time since 1940, St. Louis had snow on Easter. About 2 inches of heavy wet snow that came in shortly after @Bama Samurai drove East toward Kentucky. I'm not blaming him. I'm just pointing out the coincidence. It will be gone by tomorrow and Spring will try again around here. Hope you have a great week!

I know Chris answered but I will add this - Arko is one of the best bargains for a soap that actually produces an easy lather, lots of it, and it's slick and protective! Sticks are cheap compared to most and you can either just rub the stick on your wet face then face lather, or you can cut a small piece off and bowl lather. I actually keep a stick for use that way and also smash a couple of sticks into an Old Spice mug so I can load that way as well. Some people don't like the scent. We refer to it as a "lemony" scent which is close. Mostly it's a soapy smell that some really like, some really hate, and others just go on without worrying about it. Everybody should include a stick or two of Arko in their gear.
