  1. I get more from the SE blades than I do from most DE blades.

Before the year of micromatic fun, I would normally use a DE blade 4x before changing it. I could probably pull another shave or two per blade.

As an experiment, try making your normal lather and thin it out more with water so it has a sheen like mayo. I was able to get much better shaves with the added glide when I did this and I think it may also helped with extended blade life too.
  2. On the latter-nah, Tempe will greet you warmly :).
  3. Asha has worked really hard at Alabama with a Psychology and Criminal Justice major and will be graduating with a 4.0. However, see was unable to go straight into a PhD program. So Asha will be getting a Master's in Psychology concertrating in Behavioral Analytics from Arizona State. Upon completion of the program at ASU she will be a Licensed Behavior Analyst. Hopefully this will allow her to get into a PhD program in Behavioral Analytics with the goal of working within the criminal justice system.
  4. Sweet setup amigo! Happy Tuesday!

  6. Thank you Mark.

Both Asha and I are looking forward to the trip. It has been over 10 years since I visiting the valley.

  7. Clint @clint64, Jim @Norcalnewb, Mark @Boojum1 -- snazzy snaps today, gentlemen! Clint, hope Asha and Maya both find their new schools rewarding experiences. Best wishes to both of them. I trust Maya's leg has continued to heal well?

Perry @PLAla, beautiful new razor! How do you load it? Can you use a standard injector key cartridge if you want or must you work using the internal setup?

Jason @jtspartan -- one can never Do too much Science while shaving. Oh, and that fan brush looks great...
  8. Cool, thanks! I'll be sure to try that!

Have traded the glory of Cartel Land for the pastoral scene that is Murray, KY. About to go shopping with my friends, lunch and more spring cleaning stuff. Update later....it's always quiet in Murray.

    Have a great afternoon!

  10. That's terrific! Congratulations to Asha and to you and your wife for instilling and supporting those habits of hard work and drive in her.
  11. Thanks, John! I had to load the blade by hand. The injector key system doesn't work with this particular razor. @Linuxguile has a thread about this he started last week, but I can't find it. Anyway, I loaded very carefully following his instructions. All worked out well!

  13. Thank you John. I am sure both girls will have a great time while continuing to work hard. It will be a transition for my wife and I, going to an empty house. Maya's leg and hip have healed completely. She is now able to run and cut. She continues working out at the gym on a regular basis as well. She did really well with the procedure.
  14. Thank you Perry.

  15. Very nice razor, have a birth year in a long, with plastic parts.

  16. Both my Black Beauties are my birth year as well. The long handle I bought purposefully for that. The short handle was a raffle win and the year was a coincidence.
  17. I generally do two passes with a safety razor, but every now and then I get lazy like today. If I wasn't working today, I would have skipped altogether. The one pass shave is nice once in a while, though.
  18. Let's see what we're talkinabout here: A possible LBA from ASU which would lead to a PH.D. in BA from ASU possibly leading to some CJS work.. Sounds good!
  19. @clint64 , to be serious, it appears from her dreams that she may be headed for a Restorative Justice program. My mom co-organized the one in the next town over from me(which was her town).
  20. Thank you, Clint!
