Since I hadn't shaved in 3 days maybe 4 , figured today might be the day . And also since I haven't any Arko yet( one on the way @SharptoothC ) thanks , and it is Wednesday here's what I came up with ....
    Astra SP
    Adjustable Rockwell 6C
    Aqua Velva
    Anonymous brush
    And William's...of course..its Wednesday
Went around the world head and face - goatee. 1 pass on head and 3 on the face just because I missed shaving so much . Hope your day is going well. 15228744644672.jpg

I was going to pull a Fuzzy and run naked through the room, but I had a sharp object in my hand, and that seemed like a bad idea.

    28 pages on April 4th????

I have been very busy at work and home. For March I used the shavette @Bama Samurai sent me, and kept an actual focus going for most of the month using the big boar brush, Shark blades, and Black Ship Grooming Co Queen Anne’s Revenge soap and splash. The shavette requires respect and a very light touch. I have been straight razor shaving for several years, and still had a couple of very bloody shaves. Chris sent 16 Shark blades and 16 Dorco blades with the shavette. I currently have one Shark blade left. I decided that I am going to keep up my focus until I either finish the blades or the software. Or until May starts.

My two shaves for April have been great. Both three pass shaves. I have started muting the tips of the razor blade on the side of the stone countertop. I also strop the blade on horsehide for about 20 laps to mellow it out a bit. The last six shaves have been consistently low grade DFS, with one high grade DFS. Because I can’t use any pressure on this razor, I don’t get as close of shaves in some areas. It also takes a little longer to shave with than a straight, and about twice as long as a DE shave. I want to keep my focus going mainly to see how the light touch I have had to use on this razor affects my shaves with straights and DEs. When I started Straight razor shaving, the skills from it made my most aggressive DE razors easy to use. I’m hoping this will do that to my Straight skills.

Below is my most updated list of soaps finished. Please message me if I missed any of yours.

    Delta Echoed Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless ( 1 )
    JR #276 boar brush
    The Dry Dock shave bowl
    B+M Reserve Cool(?) sample
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Original Astringent and Florida Water

I continued my sampling with the latest and greatest from B+M, the Reserve soap base. Jason @jtspartan generously sent me a sample. IIRC this one was Reserve Cool. Pleasant complex scent, easy to lather, great shave properties. To be honest, I didn’t notice any great difference between this soap and the earlier Glissant formula. But then the Glissant is good enough that any improvement would be incremental anyway. From the description, I think the Reserve has mainly been tweaked to lather more easily even in very hard water; getting soaps to lather in our water here in Saskatoon has never been a problem for me.

Anyway it was a nice soap to try. There is enough left over in the bowl for me to use it again tomorrow. Oh, and the new Jayaruh brush performed like a champ right out of the box.

With a splash of Florida Water to finish things off, I am clean shaven and refreshed...

Yes, the Reserve sample I sent is Reserve Cool, John. I agree with you that the Reserve base is similar to the Glissant base. I would say that it takes even more water, though. As much or more water than any other soap I have.

The brush looks fantastic John. I might need to try some Florida Water after I finish up some of my current aftershaves.

    Shave 14 of 30

So I did manage a shave last night. Shaving with two days of growth is a lot easier than 4. Especially around the chin. I thought it went fairly well until I was cleaning up and noticed a bunch of nicks on the neck. kind of brought me down a bit. Otherwise it was a decent shave, and was able to work a bit more on figuring out how to get the chin.

    Thursday shave

I was pressed for time this morning so I went with my fastest razor, a Cobra Classic. It is tied for my favorite safety razor, the wide head cuts down the shaving time too. While the Tabac's refusal to die is giving me some stress, I have to admit the performance is excellent. Four passes to an epic shave.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A+

Razor: Cobra Classic (Feather Pro 1)
Brush: Handle by Jason Omega Pro knot
    Soap: Tabac
    AS: Lucky Tiger AS
    Scent: Creed Baie de Genievre

    Good evening my philosophical friends!
Another fine shave this evening. Two pass DFS.
Stirling Satsuma was tonight's selection. Another winner! I really like the sweet citrus scent. These samples are going to last me a long time. It takes such a small amount of soap to whip up a bowl full of lather. I'll probably be buying some full size aftershaves on my next Stirling order and another handful of samples.
I probably won't be shaving again until Friday morning. We're starting 24 hour coverage at work tomorrow, two twelve hour shifts. I go in and work half my day shift, come home and try and get a few hours sleep before I have to be back at 6:00pm for my twelve hour night shift. The first night is tough. I'll be doing 6 PM to 6 AM, 7 days a week. Hopefully it will only be for a week or two.
Good night and good shaves! [IMG]

    Arko Adjustable April!!

    April 4

    Razor - 1959 (E4)Gillette Fatboy
    Blade - rapira-super-stainless.jpg (1)
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Post - Alum

Time to move back to American brass. The Fatboy comes out to play and I loaded a Rapira SS blade into it. This is the cheapest of the Rapiras and one of the best. Proves that blade quality isn't tied to price. I have been using my Arko from the Old Spice mug. I grate a stick and press it into the mug for use on my head shaves and I can load from the mug that way. I went back to old school tonight, using the stick on my face then lathering with the Wolf. As always I got more than enough lather that way.

Two passes and nearly a BBS. Wasn't really trying, just enjoying the Fatboy on setting "me" and the ease that Arko lends. I'll stick with this a couple of days. This is my only badger brush and it felt good enough tonight I'm fighting the urge to go shopping.

The picture's a little out of focus. This camera thing is puzzling me a bit. I did finally download the manual for it so I'll be working on better efforts. I'm off the next couple of days with unpacking, some shopping and some just plain down time in my plans!

I can't believe there was never a deathbed confession or anything on that. I also can't believe noone ever took credit for the Max Headroom video highjack of Doctor Who in the 80s.
