Someone already attempted to remove these scales, so I might as well finish the job. :)
Enjoy your shave!

I hadn't thought of honing into the frown from the corner. Will remember that one.
Le Grelot 355 5/8 Sheffield Steel, actually a true 5/8 which would be described today as 11/16. The brush is a gel-tipped M&F 3/1 Finest and the cream Christian Dior Eau Sauvage.

Today's shave was with a German Steel, Boston made razor. I had a smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. Zero issues, it just mowed down 2 days worth of growth like nothing was there.

Razor- Dame Stoddard & Kendall, Boston. German Steel.
Brush- B400 By Tom
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

Cheers, Steve
Do I understand the picture correctly - you are coming into the corner directly rather than with an X stroke?

From your contents I had thought you meant honing heel and toe separately into the corner with individual X strokes.

Top shelf as you might guess from the Dior house. They make a balm too, but neither are imported to NA. A friend in France sends them to me. The cream isn't that expensive, maybe $30?

Yes, come into the corner directly. You can almost hone a chip that way lol. You will probably still have to hone the non-frowning part separately though, I doubt that you could hone the entire blade this way. But it is still a PITA.

Stirling Bergamot Lavender, applied with a Simpson Classic 1 best. Removed with a basic Dovo 6/8 in plain black slacks.

I now have my third straight shave behind me. It went faster than the first two, and I only nicked my chin once...........which is actually my very first blood.

Post shave was a comedy of errors, with clashing scents.

Today's razor was with a Newly Restored, and Honed "Bow" razor. I had a glass smooth 2 pass shave, that left me Baby Dolphins Butt Smooth(BDBS). Zero issues. I do have a thing for these Bow Razors, as well as Pipe Razors.

Razor- Wade & Butcher "Bow Razor".
Brush- JR#262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple. Silvertip Knot.
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice. Admiral Decanter.
