Shaved earlier this morning and kept the Adjustable part of the focus going for another day. Did dial the BB down to 5 for today, as my face was pretty windburned from being outside in the unseasonably cold weather yesterday all day. Inspired by @RyX to pull out the Gentleman. 2 great passes and I couldn’t ask for anything better. Finishing with CL doesn’t hurt, either.
I’m sitting in the airport waiting for a flight to Vancouver and will be travelling for work-related stuff until Wednesday. I guess the good news is that I will be gone long enough that I needed to check a bag and won’t have to worry about shaving stuff on a carry-on.
    Have a great afternoon all!

  2. Awesome pic and write up as usual, Rick! The Piacenza is one Stirling that I haven’t tried yet.
Extreme smile, indeed. What an wicked looking blade on that Herr, Keith. Do you have a stock of that Queen Charlotte from when they packed it in, or is that it?
Very nice looking combo, Clint. Is that the one that you posted earlier that the bottom of the brush is rounded?
  3. Thank you Clint. I was Slant Curious and it came my way when James @LOOT and I swapped some gear. It's a 1930's and was unused until I got it.

I did a full two passes this morning, and a great BBS resulted. Nice clean shave with a great scent. Not much else to say other than great. I hope everyone has a great day!
  7. BF9710BD-0CA6-4DD5-AA50-1A8BD43F50DD.jpeg My straight strategy seems to change daily. Decided to go for all 3 passes today and experiment with hands, blade approach angles, etc. Progress continues. Used B&M Rhapsody for the first time. Very herbaceous. Not sure if I like it or not yet. Some flavors of B&M take several uses to appreciate.
  8. I went with plates B and C. Will definitely share photos when the beauty arrives. I think I will try the C plate first, with a Vokshod, and Tabac shave soap.

Thank you Jason. Yes this is the same brush with the rounded bottom.

1 pass across the grain and off to my mother's house for supper. Today's shave felt as good as the Leafs win last night. Have a great day! 15232115853210.jpg

  15. Sounds like a great plan. Did Karve give any indication of how their razor's aggressiveness on the various plates compares to, for example, a Gillette Fatboy on different settings?
  16. Jason @jtspartan, hope you have a safe flight and a good trip! Great photo as usual!

Clint @clint64, fabulous photo as always. But you just have to rub the greenery there in for those of us still with ice and snow, don’t you?

Jim @Norcalnewb, you always use neat filters with your photos. Sounds like you have the MMOC dialled in. I do well with a 1912 but for me MMOC stands for Mostly Miserable Open Cuts...

Randy @BaylorGator, what is that badger brush? It's a wonderful looking piece of gear.

Patrick @9nein9, good report and photo, even if you did clutter it up with a Leafs rag.
  17. Thanks Jim!

  18. Thanks Clint & John! It’s my newly acquired Doug Korn Aquamarine with a Shavemac Two Band D01 knot. So far, I like it.
  19. Thank you, John! I can understand the thoughts on the MMOC, as I had similar issues with it. But, honestly, with some good skin stretching, it mellows out a bit.

    Good afternoon gentlemen!

Another nice shave today. I'm shaving daily now with no issues. I'm getting consistently great shaves. I know it's early in the month but I'm already looking forward to MAYhem. I have a razor that I have gotten a couple of ok shaves from but mostly razor burn and irritation. I'm confident MAYhem will bring consistent quality shaves from that razor.

I went with Stirling Port AU Prince today. Another excellent performer! This soap is mutton tallow, definitely a different feel to it than the other soaps. Not my favorite scent wise.

    Have a great afternoon! [IMG]
